Hello guys, anybody try to used RAPICON nitro Fuel 25%? last time I go to our local hobby store and they got only this type of fuel and I had no choice. I try it to my LRP S8BX2 with LRPz21r nitro engine before my car run great, once I put this type of fuel I had to re-tune cause it seems very rich in this fuel. So I started to tune the problem is once the car runs good and fast I've notice there's no smoke coming out to my exhaust but the temp is only 201F. Once I adjust the screw just to see smoke coming from the exhaust it boggs and off because of too much rich. And I've check the plug its fine and there's a presence of samll fuel on the plug. Anybody can give me an advice to this? Thanks. By the I also change plugs to Team infinity #4.

I am still uploading the video.

Not even one can give me some advice if this is possible? To have a good tune , the car run fast , temp is only 201F but no smoke coming from the exhaust.

Your post has only been on here for 4 hours, you need to give it time. You can't expect people to just be on here waiting to help you, they have other things to do.

Now my advice is retune, you want the smoke and you can definetly go higher with your temps to get the smoke. Start at factory setting and go from there.

What % fuel were you burning before you bought this new kind? If your running 201 and you have no smoke it would seem theres a bigger issue. With temps that low everyone would say a rich tune. But you can't have a rich tune with no smoke. Whats the oil content of this new fuel?

Yap that's why I am wondering, before I am using 20% sidewinder and a OS #8 plug, good smoke, nice power. This new fuel is only 9% synthetic oil and more expensive than the sidewinder. But I never heard this fuel before.

9% oil is not going to have near the smoke of a higher oil content fuel and it will generally run a little cooler than higher oil fuel. The down side to low oil content fuel is that there is very little cushion if your tune is not dead on. With 12-14% oil you have much more room before you start actually causing damage than you do with 9%.

I personally run 30% with 9% oil in all of my rigs mostly because it gives me more power and if I damage an engine it is less than $100 to sleeve and piston any of them.

here's the video, but its dark, I don't know if you can tell if the tune is fine or by just listening to the sound. But even me I can't see the smoke. Thanks for the help.

You need to be able to see smoke. You want a thin but solid and noticable trail of smoke at WOT. The only thing anyone is going to be able to tell by that video is the tune is not too rich cuz it doesn't bog and its not lean enough to make it flame out but you are going to have to tune this during the day where you will be able to see the smoke. If you arent getting proper smoke you are going to eventually cook the engine. You arent gonna be able to see it at night. Once you get it to where its running good and you have proper smoke then your tune will be good.

Thanks, I'll try it this friday again in a day time. And to have a video again. Really appreciate all the input guys.

Ok guys, I've tuned the car today (actually I didin't go to work just to tune my car) for 2 hrs just to get a good smoke first trying to adjust on the richer side but the car can't run good, it boggs and die then start to lean it 1/8 of a turn at a time until he can run good, but still my temp was only170F so I'll keep it more lean and still I can't get the smoke, at that time I am already afraid may be I am running too lean my engine will blown but i'll keep trying to lean it until my temp goes up to 220 now I can see a good trail of smoke and the car runs fast. The adjustment of the HSN now compared before I've change the fuel has a big difference almost 1full turn and a half. Thanks for all the help guys, Try to take some video this coming friday.

Some lubricants have a very low ash rating, low ash oils do not smoke very much at all. Just follow my tuning guide and call it good, as long as it's not lean according to the guide you will be fine. You will notice that I don't even reference smoke because it's all about the air/fuel ratio. If it bothers you to the point that your not comfortable, run the sidewinder instead.

extreme rc mods- Thanks, exactly same what I am doing this afternoon, except for the LSN adjustment I've used pinch test on the fuel line. If I've read your guideline earlier it would help me a lot. Ok, I'll try the way you tune the lsn this friday. Thanks . Did you check the video above? how's that it sounds for you? Its ok bad or good comment don't worry, I'll take it as an advice or pointers.

The video sounded good imo, the very slightest hesitation off idle but the top end and how it idled down sounded fine to me.

Thanks for the tuning guide E.R.M. I've always been told to tune by the smoke but this does make sense cuz there have been times when trying different fuels I've occassionally gotten confused cuz the kit would be running correctly but the smoke wouldnt be there. I'm start trying to tune this way and see what happens :)
