I believe the receiver on my car has gone south. Can I replace it with any similiar reciever? The one in it right now is a 27mz AM receiver. Can I replace it with any 27mhz AM receiver and just swap my crystals over? Or does it have to be the same brand that is in it right now to match the transmitter?

Yes you can put any 27mhz am receiver in it. Just put the crystal from the bad receiver in the new one and it will work fine
