Anyone running this 3 speed trans. in thier TMaxx?
Its the only 3 speed that I've found...are there any others out there to fit the TMaxx with small block motors? They do have one for big blocks for those interested.

oh..i found that RAD 3 speed at http://2coolrc.com/detail.aspx?ID=150

Read up on this at RCU, lots of peeps say it just weakens your tranny and that it isn't worth the money. I'd like to hear from someone who has it installed though!

Them guys also think Nos, Superchargers, Cen and smart techs are awesome though.. I read a review of this tranny a few months ago in a mag, but havnt seen it installed. In the review it sounded good and dependable, but again most reviews sound that way. Whats it run in price?

The link didnt load for me

If you look around, ANY forum talks about "Nos, superchargers," and such. I wont even comment on the cen part, for those who dont pay any attention to them lately... the last thing to do is insult them.

Thanks anyways guys, i figured if it has anything to do with a TMaxx you guys have seen it all and know what works and what doesn't.Wonder why no other companys have come out with one for the small blocks....heck most of the well know big block trucks have them...my new Savage 25 limited came with one...and yes i am one of "those" also looking into the new generation CEN Genesis limited edition truck.

oh, by the way the price is a steep $129.95 for either the small block or big block trans. from that link.

If I remember correctly, that 3-speed gears it really tall so you need a 21 to be able to get any use out of it. You need the power.

They also sell buggy sized wheels w/adapters for the 3-speed kit so you can run it with a smaller engine if I'm not mistaken. The smaller wheels require less HP to get the maxx up to speed. Check out the info here: Rad RC They even say it's not intended for use with stock sized wheels/tires.

I can't imagine it would be to good for any type of off roading though. It's open gear plastic. One little pebble and it's trashed.

I do know the Rad 4-shoe didn't work worth a crap. Slipped just as bad as stock 2 shoe on my 21 maxx when I had it.

Being open geared isnt the greatest, that and many of their other products are notorius for being garbage. You are better off keeping the tranny style you currently have.
