I bought some RE shock towers for my MBX5 and they are NICE. They are machined perfectly and fit just like the original parts. Very nice work. If you want to beef up your towers and not add much, if any weight then give these a try. I will keep you guys updated on how well they hold up.

Hey FlyinRazorback, those shocktowers are sweet. I am kinda' riding the fence between them and Fioroni. If Fioroni would just anodize in a color other than blue.
I am fixin' to place an order for some spare parts to throw in my toolbox. But I have not broken a thing yet. So I was wondering what would you keep in your box?
So far my list consist of the steering Ackerman plate, some A-arms, and shocktowers. I will probably also get the chassis braces and the Fioroni 4mm chassis plate. What else am I missing? Any help would be appreciated. :)

double that akemen arm up, then you wont bend them. Or buy the 5mm RE OR MUGEN ones.. i only bent a front shock tower a lil bitand the akemen arm(since double them up), before next race season starts (our outdoors is about over - michigan), ill pick up RE towers and braces. Other than that, maybe some front and rear arms.. Biggest thing is make sure them bolts are locktited... and e-clips have a dab of silicone on the to prevent falling off

A-arms, shocks, clutchbell, clutch shoes and springs, and diff gears are a must. 8x16 and 5x10 bearings should always be kept also, but you can usually find some at the track if needed.

The Fioroni stuff is very nice, but my brother has the blue theme going with his X5 so he's going with it. I have my eye on the Fioroni chassis. Looks like a good stocking stuffer for Christmas.

You may want to check out Ratzas for the ackerman. With theirs, if you run it one way its stock, or flip it and it has 3 or 4mm (can't remember exactly) built in for the bump steer. Looks nice and will probably be my next upgrade for the buggy.

Thanks y'all. :)
I placed my order for most of the parts you listed. Hopefully my buggy will survive my first trip to the track tomorrow. For now I have no spares. Except for two engines (complete with flywheel and clutch) and some servos. I hope this will get me by one day of racing. :redbuggy:

Well good luck racing !! when in doubt gas it lol (not really, gets $$ when ya drive like that)

Good luck with your first trip to the track! Hope everything goes well. You will be hooked from this point forward :)

Thanks a lot y'all. :)
My first day racing went fairly well. I finished second in two qualifiers. And made it into the main. In the main I had some bad luck. I was leading the pack when one of the bushings in the steering bellcranks fell out. And I lost all steering. This resulted in a spectacular cartwheel. My buggy cartwheeled about 75' of the 110' back straight. Besides the missing bushing and screw, there is no damage. Who said the MBX5 was not tough?
It was great fun regardless. I'll be back for more.
