Thanks much man heading downstairs to measure the RD chassis now.:D

Sweet mine measured exact 11 3/8 so should make setting up the newer style 3.3 trans a lot easier. Man I am beating my head against the wall on engine choice for this rig. I have been wanting to do a Losi 3.4 maxx for awhile now. I wonder how the 3.4 would compare to the red dot .26 picco engine.:D

The picco max RD .26 or 4.2 is rated at 2.7 HP and a 7 port engine

Losi 3.4 is only rated at 1.8 HP and I believe is only a 5 port engine
Both engines are rated for 34,000 rpms

The picco would smoke the losi any day of the week

Yah guess I should figure that those Picco maxx engines are beasts.:D

Okay guys I am either going with a Picco red dot .26 or a RB 523 I found one I might buy. It is new never seen fuel. Does anyonbe know how they they stack up against the red dot .26. I have heard the RB engine has more power all the way around. :D I have started purchasing parts for this build now.

Sweet I have no experience with the RB engine. I have had several Picco's, would like to try something diff with this build. May try mt luck with the RB.

If its the one on ebay the only thing I would change is the clutch the rb's tend to be a bit hard on the stocker
Just wish the seller would ship it to me:)

I'm really diggin the m2c clucth setup
And I've started using the large motorsaver filter setup atm with good results

To be honest with you I havent run them side by side but they are also in two different trucks also for what I have done with the rb I think it is better value for money better on fuel any easier to tune and you dont have to bugger around finding an exhaust
If you are after something different try the rb you wont be disappointedand plus that orange head looks killer poking through the body
I do also respect the picco but I think she has a bit too much torque down low to make it practical on a track, I have raced the rb on a track and it has bulk power definitely overpowered the chassis but thats what makes it fun

Okay guys finally decided on engine choice. I am going the big block route. I have these to engine's I am choosing from. A LRP .28 or the bigger LRP .30 which one would be best for a race truck setup. Going to be running the 3.3 maxx trans, with FOC all robinson racing gears. Both the video's I watched engines seemed pretty mean. Wanting to build a maxx that keeps up with my bro's gs truggy.:D

If your gonna put it on a track id go for something smaller a .28 or bigger will over power the chassis and you will spend most of your time on the back wheels
If your just gonna hack arou d on a track or bash id go for the .28

Have you done any side by side testing? I wasn't overly impressed with the 523's I've seen.
I am with you.... I own both engines and I will have to say I like the Picco better. The only thing I see that that RB has over the Picco is it has a normal sized BB exhaust port. I much prefered my Picco. That's just me though.

i am in the process of getting my picco dialed in but it is really trying my patients i dont know if its the climate down here but i tell you,it is taking alot longer than i had hoped
the rb on the other hand may not have the low end grunt of the picco but it is a million times easier to tune the only problem i have ever had with it was the rear engine bearing let go after 9 gallons of hard driving,in hind sight i should of put ceramics in earlier

What exhaust are you running on the Picco? Mine did not run well until I went with a better exhaust. I put a THS on it and it was a differnt engine all together. The RB....eh.... maybe I got a bad one.

I also got the THS bb pipe and manifold for my picco and it cleared up any and all tuning and starting issues i had with it. Stopped the loading up at idle and made it run like a picco is supposed to.

Yup exactly. My LRP .30 was very picky on pipes too. Same thing, running hot, sluggish. Got the right pipe and it was like it was just let off the chain.

i have a ths pipe setup but i think its the sb one ,i'm in the process of rounding up the parts to install the dynamite 1/8 pipe just ordered all the hardware and the manifold adaptor from randy so ill have another 2 weeks of waiting.....
from what i have read from other rb onwers is they can be a bit picky to tune i guess i'm got lucky with mine, that being said if i can't get the picco to perform the way i want it to i will toss it in favor of a rb,the only reason i didnt do that in the first place is i havent got got a mount and header for one to fit the revo

Well I finally decided on what engine to go with last night. I purchased the LRP ZR.30 spec 2. I will be now accum the parts for this build. Wanted to go with Hot Racing bulks but have come to find they are discontinued. SUKS. Guess I will wait for the RPM bulks to be available. Hope to order my emaxx diffs next week. What pipe do you guys recommend other than ercm pipe. Also taking suggestions on the clutch setup. Going to be running the new 3.3 trans.
