R40 or a MTX-3

Hi people,
I'm new to this forum.

I can't find the answer for this question. Shoul i get a R40 or a MTX-3, it will be for race porpouses. This is going to be my first Nitro car so i want to spent my money in sometingh really competitive.

A friend of mine is going to borrow me his RS4 to practice and all of that. But i need to make my decission on wich car i'm gonna get.

I know that one important thing here is wich car your LHS support the most. The answer is the R40 but they also support the MTX-3.

Can someone tell wich one will be a good engine for those cars? and if the prices are going to have a big difference?

I have no actual way to back up what I say on this. I just know that HPI is pretty good in my opinon. R40!

The R40 is a great basher or racer if your racing other R40s.
The MTX-3 is a class above. R40s are considered a club racer and the MTX-3 is capable of world class competition.

from what i hear r40 makes a good racer but a bad basher. i was looking to buy one. then got turned off after i realized the only parking lot i have is full of pebbles and i got a drake instead D:

anyways yeah. so only racing with r40.

Actually for some reason I was thinking about the RS4 not the R4
I need to read, think, then post as I advise others to do.

Both cars are good cars to race with. I can tell u that in my opinion the MTX-3 is the better car. If u are going to buy the Mugen I would recommend getting the kit w/ the engine. It's a very good engine for racing and it's fast.

Tower hobbys is a good place you could buy a engine.You need any .12 racing engine.I recomend going to your lhs and see what everyone runs.
