RIP Cpt. Phill, I saw this last night on TV, he seemed to have a lot of health problems when he was on the show, I hope his boys can keep there fathers boat going...
 
Too bad for sure.

Wasn't he put in the hospital last season for blood clots. I remember him in the hospital talking about how they could caused a heart attack or stroke as he was going outside in his hospital gown to puff on a death stick.

Yep, that's correct. Clots were in his lungs if memory serves also.
 
Yeah, he took a hard hit on a wave and banged his ribcage into the corner of a cabinet/table then couldn't breath. After a while, went to the dr to find he had a clot in his lung. Then they wouldn't clear him to fish for at least a season and he came back.

Considering the life that guy led, it was somewhat surprising to see the clot didn't do him in.

Sucks... I really liked that guy. I hope they keep the boat going. Really feel for his kids and crew. As ornery as he was, he was pretty good to his crew.
