R/C's in Daytona commercial

There were two commercials with electric rc cars during the Daytona 500. One was a battery commercial with two kids, and the good one was a bunch of real drivers racing I think 1/10 road cars around in the pits. Tony Stewart took everyone out for the win, then someone ran over his rc with a golf cart. It was cool - what kind of cars were those?

In the real race, Dale Jr won, Tony Stewart got second. Go Chevy!

I dont think they were anything special. Maybe something from radio shack with the drivers car body on it. That was Chocolate Myers that ran over stewarts car. Chocolate was one of Earnhardts Sr crew and was is best friend. After Sr passed he got out of NASCAR. I dont know if he is back or just did that commercial.

Stewart does own Custom Works and has raced oval RC cars since he was a kid.


Meyer's was around awhile and fueled the 29 and the 31 after DE died.

:shrug: wasn't forsure about that. I no that it hit Chocolate hard when Dale Sr died.

Chocolate stayed on with harveck's crew until the end of 2002(was that the year DE died?). he is still with RCR somewhat. i would guess he's helping with coaching the crew guys. i seen him about 5 months ago when i took a tour of RCR's shop and museum. by the way if you get a chance check it out!! well worth the few $$ to get in.

Me and a couple of buddies was thinking of doing that. They are diehard Sr and Jr fans. Me, I am a Tony Stewart fan, but I like Jr also. I heard it was pretty sweet.

it is awesome. they just opened the museum about 3 months before i went. they have all of big Es Winston rides like the silver car, the Bass Pro Shops car, etc. they have his daytona victory car there as well as alot more. they dont have but one DE jr car which is his bush car. it took us about an hour to go through it but we took our time. i want to goto DEI soon.

Yep, he was also the first person to reach Harvick when he won at Atlanta a few weeks later, IIRC.
