No that doesn't help. I don't understand what it does

It's a one-way bearing on the drive shaft.

On the throttle it functions like a regular drive shaft. Off throttle it basically free wheels the front end so you have no front brakes. It improves steering so you gain the benefit a 2WD's steering with the driveability of a 4WD.

If I was racing a Revo, I would use one simply because it suits my driving style.

For bashing I wouldn't bother with one.

Yep, plus you have the advantage of being able to tune the center diff.

Traxxas makes the Center Diff kit and the rear brake kit. You need to install the center diff before you can install the rear brakes.
