Do you have to empty out the fuel tank after every use?

normally i just hold the exhaust until it dies and leave it there for next time use, the problem is its so hard to fire it up for the 1st time, i donno if its because i left the fuel in it...

i usually try to start it up every night. its just really hard to get it started. but once its started once, then i can shut it off and start it up in 1 or 2 tries.

any helps?
 
You should always remove the fuel at the end of your running day. Otherwise it could go bad and cause problems by blocking the fuel tank intake. You should also use some kind of after run oil (ARO) at the end of the day as well.
 
There's varying opinions on this. Most manufactures recommend it be emptied every day. I've left 1/2 tank in for a couple of weeks without issues but most of the time I'll run until it's empty. Hard starting may result from leaving fuel but not usually.

How much are you leaving in there? If it's just a small amount like say under 1/4 of a tank,then I think it should be removed. There are other factors to consider too like: How good of condition is the engine,How well tuned it is, How you store it until it it gets ran again and how good your start up procedure is.

As always though,an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. If you think it's an issue for you,drain it and start fresh every day.
 
You may be flooding it by blocking the exhaust as well. Pinch the fuel line to kill the engine. Using after run oil after every use is a good habbit to get into. Pre heating the engine with a hair dryer or heat gun makes for easier starts as well.
 
After every session I do the following: I run the fuel out of the lines and tank, I then clean around the carb opening and around the glow plug hole with nitro spray and a q tip. If need be I then clean the air filter. After all that is done, I'll apply some after run oil in the carb and turn over the engine a few times. This works for me and my engines have lasted me and give me very little starting issues everytime I run one. Hope this helps, Steve.

Like a 1/4 of a tank sometimes less. i think i will just use them all next time =)

well, i got after run oils, and i got a new rechargeable glow plug ignitor, it made a HUGE different on the brightness of the glowing on glow plug. The one come with the car uses a D battery, its huge, but i guess its not as powerful as the little rechargeable one i just got haha.

i got it started on like 5 stroke today, but the car doesn't run right anymore, it keeps dying on me after idle for like few seconds, but after awhile, it will stay on. i might take it to the local hobby shop tomorrow, have them tune it for me. Thanks for reply guys =)
 
You're not learning anything by having other people tune you're rigs for you. Tuning is must have skill to learn if you're gonna stay in the nitro game.
 
i didnt go today, and i did further tuning, which i made it worse D:

it runs good after its runing, but if i full throttle while the car is at a complete stop, it will bog or trying to cut out the engine, so i have to give it little bit of throttle to get it going before i can give it full throttle.

u are right cwl1774, but hopefully they will explain to me whats been done to my car as they tune it. i really tried D:

this is only my 9th day into this hobby, and nobody around me is a expert, so only help i can get is from eiter internet or go back to the hobby shop.

i love this hobby tho, and hopefully i will learn all about it.

i think my tuning is complete, haha

i riched my HSN and leaned my LSN to factory default.

and its runing good =P

Take into account where your keeping it. If it's in a damp basement or someplace moist you should take extra precaution.

I've left fuel in the tank for a few days or more with no trouble (dry basement), but I idle the engine upside down so it runs out. Then I disconnect the lines and pull it over again 'til it won't fire anymore. This burns off the methanol inside the engine, which attracts moisture. All that's left behind is oil!

You should get into the after run maintenance routine though, because these engines are pricey.

If mine sit for more than a week or two I'll fire 'em back up and do proper after-run maintenance on them.

Plugging the exhaust is a good way to flood your engine, you should just pinch the fuel line or let it idle out instead.
