I have a O.S. .15 CV and i'm having the hardest trouble finding parts for it. Someone told me the .12 parts work is this true? All i need is a cover where the pull start would be. There is a little heat sink type one there now and i found the exact one but for a .12 will this work? Let me know!!! thanks

Nope, the 15 and 12 are different displacements... About the only thing that's cross-compatible that I can think of is the carb.

Thanks I went ahead and bought a new .15 CV I pretty much ruined the one I have. One of the threads on the crankcase was shot which meant one of the screws that holds the heat sink was unable to tighten which caused smoke to shoot out under the head. So I had ordered a new crankcase. Well while i was taking it apart I noticed 2 screws for the backplate cover (no pullstart) were stripped I tried for 2 days to get it off without damaging...well it damaged. I then tried to get the sleeve out. I read somewhere to put a flat head screw driver through the exhaust port and turn the flywheel. Well it didnt work and now the piston goes up halfway then gets extremely tight so now the sleeve is shot. So I'll start fresh....damn ebay...

Never never NEVER use a metal object in the engine like that; a plastic object, such as a zip-tie, is what you want to use. Always from the top down, never thru the exhaust port.

Otherwise, you used pretty much the correct technique. You'll love that CV.15 - even though it's a lower-horsepower engine, you can't beat it for the dollar.
