I have a savage 25 and my reverse is acting up sometimes it works sometimes it don't. Do i have to replace the reverse or is there away to fix it?

have you tried re-setting the mixer-pro in it?
just follow the directions it came with
if that doesn't work either your mixer is bad or your revserse servo could be bad

I don't have the directions I got it for free and they didn't give me them so kinda sucks because I'm always lost when stuff needs to be fixed. Lol but it was free so I can't complain you know. So if you or someone could tell me how I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot

I don't have one on my truck but they are, from everything I've heard/read,notoriously problematic. Most people don't keep the reverse for very long. Follow the advice above and also make sure the linkage operates smoothly.

Here's the instrucion - Reverse Installation & Set Up

I'm a newbie sorry but where is the reverse mod at? Is the the servo next to the steering servo? And how would I adjust it? sorry I feel Hella stupid for even asking that I tryed to download the manual but it don't say nothing about it. but it would hurt if i just not used u guess right? And I got 2 of these savages for free one has alloy shocks andsome other stuff that seems to he upgraded or came that way. One has the plastic shocks and seems to be stock or is different. Is there anyway to tell if one is a savage 25 and one a 21 or whatever? Thanks for the help.

The aluminum shocks are a very nice upgrade... What hell man, I want some free stuff! Lol that's pretty sweet ya got 2 of them ....... Um one thing ya might wanna do is buy a manual off eBay. also um does the engine say 21 or 25 on the top of the cooling head? I could be wrong idk
But anyways nearly all savages are identical stock.... Really the only difference is their bodies and engine size

No i haven't even bothered trying to get it to work I figured ill wait tell I have too. lol and ya I'm a mover and some older people gave them to me I was like hells ya! lol but neither of them say 21 or 25 so owell ill maybe take it to the hobbies shop and they can tell me. So I was going to get some upgrades for them what would be some good upgrades?

If you get the reverse working correctly it's a sweeeeet upgrade. Mine works awesome ......I used the stock sf-10 servo as the shifter and it works awesome
...........I mean your trucks out 50 yards and a tree or whatever is in your way.....wouldn't it be sweet to just back up? Lol just sayin
.....well depending on how much $$$$ you wanna spend there's lots of upgrades to do......I would say go on eBay and start with some simple ones......get a hump battery for the receiver box, k&n air filter (better air flow)
I just bought an integy aluminum Steering bell crank (bout $20)
Seems a lot more sturdy than the stock plastic one......also I think you said one truck already has them but aluminum a-arms are a great upgrade
You don't need these but that's just some things I'd put on it
Also one more thing I'd get would be a center skid plate.....just got one and extremely glad I did

Ya I get your point on the reverse that's why I like it.lol and I was bidding on a new motor the 4.6 k so I'm hopping I get it if don't ill just stick to the one I have. But the only upgrade I can tell that i have is alum shocks and 2 disc slotted breaks and I did upgrade the steering to the metal spring and shaft.
It's nice but you know you always want better.lol so will a better exhaust give me any change in power?

Oh yea I know how you feel! Always wanting to upgrade and spend money lol:hehe:
Yea a exhaust definitely will.......what do you have on ur savage now? The stock plastic one?

Lol yea men and there toys right. But yea just the stock one. I got a stage 2 air filter so maybe I should get a upgraded exhaust now huh?

I was looking at a slotted one you think that's a good one?

Just take the reverse out it is more trouble than it's worth. You can find instructions on hpi's website.

Don't go with aluminum arms if you're going to be bashing. Get RPM arms instead. Aluminum bends and stays bent. Plus the more metal you throw on it the heavier the truck gets which can hurt engine performance. Again I will say get rid of the reverse it reduces rotating mass in the transmission and removes a lot of moving parts. Less moving parts=less that can go wrong. Another good upgrade would be the 3 speed kit with the lower first gear and taller third gear. I also agree about the K&N filter I have been all through the K&N catalog and all through their website and nowhere does it mention that they make air filters for RC engines. It's a vent filter for a valve cover not an air filter for an RC engine.

Stock replacements yes eBay if I can but sometimes amainhobbies or towerhobbies but sometimes for aftermarket you have to go straight to the vendor who makes them. Lots of times they are made by a guy in his garage. Lol

yea dude an exhaust upgrade will definitely be worth it .....I'm no expert on pipes but I've heard really good things about ercm pipes...however theyre pretty $$$
ofna makes some good pipes I've heard for the savvy at a lower cost
or i fu want u could just get the hpi tuned pipe.....better than the stock pipe!

K@N air filters are not for rc use. They don't filter fine particles good enough. Stay away from them.

really?? whatas a good brand then, stock filter from hpi? ...cuase I've got a k&n on mine...glad u told me before i started to break my new engine in :whhooo:
