can a 2.5 or 3.3 traxxas engine fit in a hpi mt 2...its been an ok car for my kid just the stock engine is horrible. i have an xtra 2.5 with very low time. any help will be appreciated

What is currently the engine in the MT2? Is it the stock rotary carb/side exhaust engine?

If so, then your going to need to find a header and figure out a linkage arrangment to work with a slide carb. The 2.5 will more than likely fit, but you will find it a bit tough to get a header that's not made for the 2.5 to fit it's exhaust port.

A OS 18 CV-R with rotary carb will drop right in with little fuss.

What engine do you currently have in it?

I met a guy at the lhs that said he put his 3.3 on the MT2. Said he used the stock MT2 motor mounts and riggged the exhaust. I personally run the os 18 and its been a great engine. I've never even tuned it to its full potential.

I rigged up a 1/10 scale buggy with a .25 with a slide carb. It originally had a rotary. I put up a post with a bell crank and rigged it up like a T-Maxx's. Worked pretty good. The carb mod that is.....everything else exploded.
