OK I want to put a traxxas crankshaft in my ASP motor.
everything seems to be about the same except the traxxas crankshaft is a little larger (gurth) than the ASP one.

I'm having the traxxas one machined down to the asp size.

WILL it work?

I need to use the clutch and gears from a 4 tech on the asp. but the area where it mounts just won't work on the asp motor.

And yes I know I'd be better off just getting a traxxas motor. but I allready have the ASP and the traxxas parts were free.

This is for a project that's made with inexpensive/free parts and has no real origin sand rail.

Hard to say if it will work. You've already seen that it's a larger diameter crank. I would also wonder about the intake timing. That may be different and could upset the way it runs. I'm not much of a specialist, but I'd say it's a crapshoot. Let us know if it actually works.
