Does anyone know of a set of wheel hex adapters that will widen the maxx out about 3mm? I've got the old stock .15 rims on a wide-offset maxx, and the turning radius is severly impaired by the rims.

Granted, I could buy new rims, but why spend $30+ when I can hope to spend less.

Forget the extentions and buy the offset wheels. If you are still running the stock chevron tires get yourself a set of S-Maxx tires off e-bay. The S-Maxx tires will give you so much more drive so you can launch that much higher. I switched to these tires and its a big difference. Keep the old tires&wheels as spares.

Thanks NitroBuzzard - I found the only set on ebay and snagged 'em. Since I'm going to be replacing this truck with a Savage comin up in June, I don't want to spend $45 or so bucks on a set of S-Maxx tires (the stock ones are practically still brand new, so it'd be a waste, in a sense)... The $7.50 solution seems a lot easier to me.

If the Maxx is a moneypit, I'd rather fall into a pothole than a canyon, lol.

I'm glad to hear that, olds. I have some Bowties on the RPM wide-maxx offset rims that are my 'dirt only' tires. Glad to know I won't have to part with them (they have less than 3 race days on them). Sounds like I'd be parting out my battery pack (1100mah nimh), reciever, and tires/rims off the maxx.

I've got a Megatech MT.16 in it right now. I've been thinking about stepping up to the OS CVRX .18, but I'd probably be smarter to just hold onto the money and put it towards a savage instead.

It's what I did... I liked the savage much better as a basher. The maxx was fun when I converted it to rear wheel drive only. It also over heated less. Handled a little squirrely, but it was fun.

My main gripe is the steering radius. It turns like an Aussie Road Train (tractor trailer with three+ full-length trailers). I'm hopin the Savage will at least turn within, say, 6 or less feet.

I'd step up that steering servo if you havent already. Also, check out the proline cam servo saver. That makes a big difference in the steering on the maxx.

I'm just gonna save my pennies and upgrade to a Savage. Until then, the Maxx will get the daylights bashed out of it... And if (more like, when) it breaks before then, it'll just get torn down and parted out in the FS/FT area.
