ok i just got one today and i put it on my truck and when i push down on it the header hits. is this normal? also can i get it to where it wont hit, also if i can't will it knock the header loose from the engine?

any information will be appriciated

A little more detail would help

anyway, are you talking about when you push the rear of the truck down the header hits the rear shock?

did you purchase the big tube header from hobby shop new jersey?

when i push the rear of the truck down the suspension arms hits the header

i baught it from my lhs ( hobby town usa)

If it is the Jersey Big Tube or Competition Products big tube header yes they will both hit the a-arm under full compression. This is one of the reasons I took mine off. The other is if you go to anything smaller than a 20 tooth clutch bell it will also rub the shock. I replaced mine with the Duratrax big tube header.

could i shave the top of the arm off a little with out it harming the suspension? it would work and the upper arm shouldnt break cause it dont have the pressure on it like the low arm

i got the 18 tooth bell on and the header dont rub the shock so its ok there

You could try that but it may cause a weak point in the arm.

I have also heard of guy's who bend the header a little to allow clearance, but don't know how good that works either.

Your lucky if it does not rub the spring, mine did when I went to an 18 tooth bell. I don't really think I like the idea of shaving the a-arm down in order to occomodate a header, I agree with Flattop in that it will weaken the upper arm.

well its rpm so it should hold up if not then ill buy a new arm and trade some one the big tub for a stocker or somthing. if it all holds up ill be happy with it
