Question about Spur gears

Hey every one how ya doing, I just have a quick question about spurs gears. i have a RS4 3 with a OS MAX 18 engine. I currently runing: 1st gear 47 tooth and second gear is 43 tooth. A friend told that i have to be runing 1 st gear with 45 tooth and second with 41 tooth. Will this make it any faster. Thanks

It will take off faster but will lose some top speed

The 47/43 will give you better off the line acceleration, but less top end, compared to the 45/41 which will give you better top speed, but less off the line acceleration.

Basically, smaller spur gears gives you more top end, larger spur gears give you better off the line acceleration.
