Would this engine be able to fit into a T-maxx 3.3
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXF90&P=TS

I'm getting my first Nitro R/c for xmas and i want to be able to use it but I can't break in the new engine that comes with my t-maxx in during winter espiccaly here because its always -20C during winter so I just wanna throw in a cheap engine and use it for winter, So if any one knows a cheap engine i could throw in or what Not i would be grateful!

,Thanks!

No offense here.....the 3.3 is a good engine, but I would wrap the head and beat that thing as long as it was maybe at least 20 degrees f out. You can get a new one for 100 bucks on ebay without a trade. Just richen the high needle at least a turn. Cold air is more dense....more oxygen needs more fuel.

No. It won't. Not without quite a few other parts.

Your best bet would to find a used 2.5 or 3.3 on ebay and run it. Although... you can never really count on a used engine being worth buying, unless you know the guy and have witnessed the engine running.

its -4F where I live here in Canada so breaking in the engine in that weather is pretty much impossible from what i hear, so I'll probably just buy a used one thats broken in to drive for the winter then ill break mine in during summer, thanks for the advice!

I hated electric remote control cars growing up. You'd get about 8 min of top performance then it gets slower and slower and about 15 min later your done gotta recharge for 5 hours plus with electric engine there is like no tuning so that takes the fun out of it:(

That was the case 15 years ago. Half an hour charge times and 45 minute run times are easy to achieve these days. Batteries passed up nitro in performance 10 fold with brushless technology and lipo batteries. Even a stock E Maxx, with some good lipos will hang with a T Maxx, and they're water proof.

Yeah, unfortunatly, at that cold of temps, a nitro rig just is going to be a pain. They get finicky when ran below freezing. I don't even bother when it's less that +20F outside. I usually get some wheel time in around christmas, but even then only if it's above +20F.

Even batteries don't care for cold. Not sure what lipo's do, but NiMH packs die quite a bit faster when the ambient temps drop. In the summer, my receiver packs never die on me in 3+ hours bash sessions. During the winter, they make it an hour if I'm lucky before dumping.
