This is way quicker and less hassle than using the oven degreaser method!
How I strip anodizing from rc aluminum parts
FAST & EASY
what you need:
1 can drano with crystals, Or similar powder form drain declogger solution
old metal pan or unwanted thick plastic tote
water hose with spray nozzle
old towel(s)
*Some form of protective gear, rubber gloves, and eye protection at a minimum.*
What you do
DO THIS OUTSIDE do not inhale the mixture fumes
Use drano powder sparingly like 2 tablespoons is enough for a large tub and add water enough to submerge parts
mix well, let stand 20-30 seconds
Again DO THIS OUTSIDE
drop rc part in solution, 30-60 seconds, slosh around, 30-60 seconds, flip over, slosh around remove. Or until desired result. WEAR GLOVES USE TONGS/etc.
wash off with water hose sprayer
wipe off thoroughly
now u have bare aluminum ready to polish or clear coat! Remember the parts are bare metal and are prone to flash corrosion and etc. Polishing them or coat with wd40 for storage if it's gonna be some days til you finish. Be sure to Follow Woodie's polishing guide!
