I know I've read about this somewhere, but I'll be damned if I can find it.

I have a sportmaxx that I built mostly from good parts of my dissassembled XTM converted 21 maxx. I have an old, kind of worn os 21 RG that I want to shove in it. I want to keep the short chassis. I know someone had posted a thread about moving the trans one hole forward to get the engine to fit. I'm fine with that. I'm also only running 4 supermaxx shocks which gives me a little more room in the rear anyway.

My question is to anyone who has tried this, what did you use for a rear center cvd? I'm going to fart around with it this week and move things around just to see what I can do for that center cvd. I have a couple that were for my xtm 21 kit, but I don't know the measurements.

Just thought I'd try to gather a little info before I start playing around.

Keep in mind I already know all the woes and problems that come from a 21 maxx, but... I want to do it anyway.

You could use a out drive slider axle cut to length. They are inexpensive to buy in bulk (I got like 20 for $5 at my LHS once upon a time,) and you can modify them as necessary to whatever length you need. Other than that, you could start looking at the length (measure carefully) and then drop in whatever outdrive or centerdrive CVD that you find that matches or is close to that length.

I'm workin on buy the dynomite conversion kit for the t-maxx 2 become a .21 or .28. The 1 @ my LHS comes w/ eventhing u need except the engine but on the back of the box they show the same kit w/ the .28 or .21 engine nut i would just buy the kit w/out the engine then get the enfine u want

He is not trying to convert the Maxx to a .21 Maxx. He is trying to keep the standard chassis and drop in a .21. This is a tricky mod as you can easily eat your transmission if it is not beefed up, but it is do-able.

After looking over the truck as it sits, I just don't feel like dealing with trying to jam a normal 21 block in it. So, against what I wanted, I'm going to use the 21 xtm chassis that I have. Although, I'm still leaving it only 2wd. In the end, I'll only pick up a little extra weight, but it will be more roomy to work on.

I have it half put together right now. Just trying to figure out what I don't like about the placement of a few things, then drill some holes where I want it.

With as many holes as I've drilled in 21 chassis plate, it's going to be as light if not lighter than the 2.5 chassis plate anyway.

It's pretty much in shambles on my dining room table currently. I'll tear into it more tonight and hopefully get it going by tomorrow. I want to rip the rear diff apart and replace a few bearings. It's going to be a PITA. One of my rear lower bulkhead screws threads are gone and I've run a bolt through it at an angle and put a nut on it. It's a real pain to get apart, but it holds together really well.

I have the trans, radio box, steering servo and front clip mounted right now. I'll take a few shots of the chassis plate. I've made swiss cheese out of that thing in the past year or so just to put stuff where I wanted it instead of where XTM put it.

Hmm are you married. If so how did you get your wife to let you use the dining room table as a work bench. Last time I did that man did I get scorned for it.

Yep, married. We only use the dining room for holidays anyway. Thanksgiving, christmas, fathers day... We don't have any kids, but I have to take care to put away small stuff because of our stupid cats. They really like zipties... carry them all over the house in their mouths. We probably have a hundred of them under our fridge because of the cats.

My wife doesn't mind. She likes that I have a hobby. She's just mad that she doesn't... I even bought her a nice set of wireless headphones for when I'm working on the truck. Then she can sit there in front of our 60" tv and not hear a thing from me. Although, they make her yell a lot. DINNERS DONE!!!! Stupid headphones.

We live in a apt, so our living room/dining room is one big L shaped room. The little portion of the L is the dining room.
