I just bought a pullstart for my O.S. Max and when I took it out of the package it came apart on me. I read the instructions and it said it should have a cap on it but when I looked the cap wasn't in there. I called the hobby shop where I purchased it and they said they didnt have anymore in and there truck wont get there until friday. It sounded like he was actually trying to tell me that they wasn't going to take it back. Can anyone help me try to get it back together, is there an eay way.

Sorry to hear that, OS engines rarely have missing parts, I ve never heard of it before and since you bought the last one your LHS had, its a good indication the guy knew the part was missing, call OS direct and let them know, they WILL help you!
If you left the engine in the box and never installed it, there is no reason why you LHS wont take it back! Receipt???

I already had the motor nitromaniac its just the string from the old pullstart broke and I bought another pullstart system since he told me they didnt sell just the cord. I got it to work half way got it back together but about 3 to 4 inchs of cord is hanging out. I tried and tried to get all of it in there but it just wasn't havent it. Thanks for your reply nitromaniac.

I just got one 2 about 2 weeks ago. I took it off the motor to do something and the spring came flying out. Mine didnt have a backplate also. I think it was normal for a OS motor. Do you think they have backplates or just did some luck out and not get one?

It aint a back plate, it is like a half moon looking piece. It has like two little clamps that go over the round thing that the cord wraps around. My old one had one but one of the clips was broke. It was not really that hard after I got a pair of needle nose to hold the coil together to put it back were it supposed to be, no I have 3 inchs of cord that drags from my ass end . Thats OK though, atleast I got to bash today. It was 78 degress in INDY today, tomorrow, 54.
