Current list:
Odonnel 20% fuel
2 extra glow plugs
Fuel bottle

Anything else I should pick up so I'm not stuck waiting a week if I mess something up as a noob entering the hobby?

Thanks

are you buying a new revo or a used revo
that makes a big difference in your list
a new one will come with battery packs extra glow plug and fuel bottle
i personally would keep 6 glow plugs they never go bad sitting in your box and if you do not have any your screwed

used is another story
what about tools
let us know first then we can give a better answer

You might want to put yourself together a nice little tool kit in your box for repairs do you have an igniter for the glow plug otherwise break it in and go for it.:D

It is new, from Amain hobbies.com

So dont need a fuel bottle.

What type of tools arent included?

I also rememebr reading about temp guns for tuning?

you should get basic tools for anythingy you need to do on the rig, but they are basic. you will need glow plugs, AA batteries, a charger, fuel, and eventually better tools.

I have basic normal tools around the house, but I dont have anything like a specific wrench for the glow plugs, and nuts on the wheels, but I'm guessing they include that?

they will include a wrench simular to a 4way you would see for real cars.

REVO will come with the basic tools you will need which includes a plug wrench.

The first tool you will want to upgrade will be the plug wrench followed by a set of decent hex drivers.

I like the Dynamite plug wrench since I can also use the handle as a hammer. LOL

Dynamite also sells a decent, inexpensive tool kit that I like as well.

Are the stock tires good from the start, or is it worth getting a set for pavement vs grass/dirt

Wear them out then go buy a couple specific sets for the terrain your gona run on.:hehe:

I agree. The stockers are decent tires for bashing on all surfaces.

How long do battery packs last between charges?

Ordered it but dont see any details about extra battery packs or fuel bottle

Mine runs maybe 6-8 tanks I think. I may be wrong, I've never actually measured it. You're going to want a new charger, the one traxxas sends takes like 4 hours to charge

The RX battery is a rechargeable inside the RX box on the truck. You will most likely need a good 6 sub-Cell pack for the EZ-Start wand. No more than a 2200 mAH is really necessary for an evenings bash session.

i use a 4500 in my ez start only advantage i see to that is i never have have to charge it and with the glow plug drawing juice too it seems to do pretty good

Hrm, guess I missed getting air filter oil :( Is there a replacement for it that I can pick up locally?

Is it really important to WD 40 out the engine after every run?

You can get a foam filter oil at most motorcycle shops. It's similar to what they use on dirt bike foam filters.

After run oil is only needed at the end of the day. Personally I don't recommend WD-40, but a good ARO from an RC mfr.

2 glow plugs in my .21vbz motor after 14 gallons.. 1 was for break in and abouter 2 gallos.. I run the osp7 plug.

I have only been into rc trucks from a year, the advice I was given was just get the bare essentials (gas, fuel bottle, and extra glow plugs) then once you start breaking stuff and go to the store for the piece, always grab 2.. that way you have a spare for next time. the parts are usually cheap enough anyway.
