Correct on the hpi 21/25 fitment; the pull start will fit the 21BB and the S25. It will also fit the F4.1. This is personally confirmed by myself. I can't speak, however, for the fitment onto the Hotbodies Lightning.

The best thing to do is go to hpiracing.com and look at the specs of the truck, and find out what motor it comes with. Then leaf over to the manuals section, and look up the pullstart part number. Compare that with the S25 pullstart number (1426, if memory serves). If they match, you're set.

i use the same pullstarter that heartbreak gave the hpi numbers for and it works great and mounts right to the savage x motor and had the screws in the kit. i did not like the roto start one bit.

which pull start so is it on your savage or a hot bodies?

The part number for the hotbodies is 28402. Whether or not it's the same as the HPI 21BB/s25/f4.1 pullstart, I dunno.

yes thats the one but the sticker only says hpi on it instead of hot bodies

Exactly. It won't fit the motors' backplate. Not to mention, the actual pullstart itself is not strong enough to withstand the HPI big block. You'd break that puppy in just a few tanks, if it lasts that long.

The HPI pullstart, on the other hand... I had one that outlived three engines (at least).

Mine only lasted for 2-3 runs/tanks

The reason it didn't last very long is over-pulling it. If you don't pull the starter more than 12 inches, at the most, it will last forever. Just quick flicks of the wrist to start it; not lawnmower style pulls.
