Ok man. I'm getting sick and tired of charging this battery for the ez start. 20 or so good bursts and it dies. I've cycled this battery many times. Fully discharged, charged overnight. Honestly, should I put the pullstart back on this maxx? Opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

i had the same problem at first ...battery would not last ...so i got a spare one on ebay ...still had the problem .....took my ez start apart ...there was a gear that was binding inside ...making my starter work overtime ..even burnt a brush in it ...i grinded the gear a bit so that it would turn freely on its shaft ...before , i had tu use pliers to turn it ...works like a charm now ;)

Cool thanx man. I'll look into that. Been such a pain in the a*$. Again thanx for the kind words, but I think I'm going back to the pullstart.

if you take the ezstart apart ...look for the small steel gear inside ..there is only one ...thats the one i had problems with ;)..

hey you mucguyvered it!!

I went with pull start from ezstart.. friend pulled it a little hard and trashed it. Need to get a new one because the ezstart is more hassle... keeping stuff charged and added weight to carry around when you're already transporting multiple trucks to the track. One more thing to worry about imo.

lol ;)

i dont mind the weight ..I'm not a racer ;)...and since i fixed the bind in it ...it works awesome ...batteries last quite a while to ..i love it ... just press the red button and let her rip ..lol :D

Yea I just charged my pack again, and this 2.tr came right to life!!! Once this engine is warm, just a quick #burst" will get er going. I guess my prob is just when the motors cool. After that, no probs at all. Thanx for the posts guys n gals. I guess ill stick with the ez start till it makes me mad again. LOL.

cool ...my 3.3 takes about 5 seconds to start when cold ...and once warm , its like you ..it barely has to turn over ;)...i like that much better than having to put a glow plug warmer and pulling on a rope ..lol...and no need to hold the truck either ;)

One more quick question? I've got a few bubbles coming up around my plug. Real small. This normal? Performance wise, its running real good.

I do have some dirt n grit in there. Plug is still in. What's the best way to clean that? Probably a q-tip? I know, stupid question. Still kinda new at this. Lol. What's the after run oil? Wd40? Thanx again.;)

i use my air compressor to clean out the hole before removing the plug....a few 100psi bursts of air will get the muck out ;)

they sell afterun oil for that ...but its not worth the ?? WD40 or compressor oil works just fine ;) ..as long as it an oil that removes water ...thats what the ''WD'' stands for in ''WD40''....''water displacement ''

the most important thing is to burn off all the fuel in the engine ...the fuel will attract water ........when I'm done riding it , i unhook the fuel line from the carb and start it ..burns off the remaining fuel ..then a few sprays of WD40 or few drops of compressor oil ..and spin the engine for about 10 seconds

Cool learn something new everyday. When using the Wd40, do ya just remove the plug and spray a bit into the piston? Then crank it a bit?

Ok I gottcha. I asked ya that last question before I read the rest of your post. Lol. Thanx again man. You've been a huge help for me!!!! See ya in the forums!!!!

lol...ya ..we always learn in this hobby ;)

few shots in the plug hole and in the carb ...then crank it with no plug ...they say in the manual to do this 2 or 3 times ...you can put a paper towel over the head so that it doesn't spray all over ;) ...then all should be good ;) ...and when you stop your engine to cool down , always make sure the piston is at the bottom ...turn the flywheel till you feel no compression

Lol honestly I'm in the same boat you are, had my N4-Tec for 2 weeks and ready to trash the starter, the prongs on the battery, starter and charger arent even set in the connecters solid, a little movement and I damaged the prong on the battery so imthinkin about the pull start even though its not sophisticated and approved by nasa.....:hehe:

Just picked up a can of ccompressed air. That'll work huh? Small campfire Wd40 too. Good to go!!! Thanx again.

Campfire?? Lol. I meant to say can of Wd40. That's better.
