I'm using Faskolor paints, just was wondering what psi I should use. I have a 2 gallon air compressor with moisture trap. I have it set at 37psi right now.

I use laquers so I don't know if this will help you but I paint between 20-25 psi. When I used to do 50psi it was just way to high for any detail.

I use Createx Auto Air Colors, which are water-based like the Faskolor. I spray them @ 40-45 psi and have the paint flow very small.

Are you having problems w/ the paint @ 37 psi?

Still trying to get used to the airbrush. It seems to be a little spotty on the body. Not noticable once the backing layer is put on.

If you are splattering the paint and not having an even mist then I would say yest your PSI is too high.

I just started a new body. Did the wing at 37, will try the body at 25. Thanks for the help!

I shoot Faskolor at around 25 - 30 psi. So far, Black & Yellow are the only 2 colors I've had to thin out, just a little, with water. I wouldn't go any lower than 25, or any higher than 40.

I use the Paasche dual action gun, and spray Parma paints, slightly thinned, at 35-40. If you are getting it spotty, that usually tells you that your pressure is too low and it's not able to atomize the paint properly.

guess it is different for thinned laquers............ paint also can spatter if you let your trigger snap back. With my Badgar dually I have to gently let the trigger go back into place or the next time I start to spray, spatter splatter splatter.
