I'm confused with the whole swift thing...

right now there is a swift 2 and a swift pro right?

is the swift for sale at at rcmart for only $250 the swift 2 or swift pro?...they say its pro but thats a little cheap dont you think?
The Swift2 is sold only by Schumacher UK & UK model shops, the '2' being to distiguish that is has the revised parts (outdrives & shimmed diffs).
The Pro has all 7075 machined Al parts, revised front suspension, & 3.5MM shocks, but no engine & radio so would be cheaper.

Hope this answers your question.

Tim.

I have a Swift Pro that I'm considering selling. If anybody is interested, let me know. It will come with LOTS of extra parts. Including a second pro chassis, 2 bodies, and lots of other stuff.

SH .21 Rebuild?

Yesterday the SH .21 in my Swift siezed up and after taking it apart today, it looks like the internal bearing fell apart and sent metal shards everywhere, including into the cumbustion chamber.

So, is this thing worth rebuilding? The piston and sleeve kit is $69 and I'm tempted just to replace it with a new engine for $120.

Anyone else destroy their SH .21s?

any brands' 5mm inner diff shimms will do
or yokomo part nr.# zc-s50s( with different shimm ticknesses+)
or mugen mbx parts are always good / nr# eo206 ?
or try at schumacher UK importer site

ok now I'm a little confused!
i have a swift 2 rtr but want a "pro" version now
i know schumacher do the pro version, just rolling chassis with spare springs etc..
but I've seen whats described as "swift pro rtr" on ebay from hong kong..as stupidly low prices..cheaper than what i can get in the uk and with all the radio(sanwa/airtronics)
can someone please tell me if this is indeed the pro version or what?,,is it exactly the same car as the pro version(ie stronger alloy than the swift2) but with radio?
hope links are ok,if not i apologise now.

many thanks
dave

The only thing I see on that kit from overseas is the top front arms and steering knuckles. Everything else is the same as any other swift RTR.

cheers, thats what i thought..i emailed him and he kinda implied that i didnt know what i was on about and that it was the pro version.
i told him i had the swift 2 and he said its better than that!
i showed him some links to pics etc of the swift pro..he never got back to me ..strange.
i know rcmart have the pro in ..know anywhere else i can get them?

i live in the uk.
cheers
dave

thanks for the lnk gdc02,they are about the same price as the uk ones.

i have found someone in the usa that is selling one that looks good for the money, its the shipping and import duty that will hurt me.

going back to my previous post, there will be some annoyed people when the realise its not the pro version they have bought from that seller.

i ran the swift2 on sunday at a local meeting, just running the engine in and car worked well..i only rolled the car twice at the same hairpin 2 times, when i got home the chassis was bent!!
it bent up from the centre diff to the front and same from the centre diff to the back!
its as if someone put the car on a brick at each end and stood in the middle of the car,if this happened with a decent(not being big headed) driver at the sticks god knows what the kids are going to do to it lol

Any chance you could post a picture?

ok i will do,i straightened it out when i got home then went down the bmx track with to set the engine up..and bent it again almst straight away after the first set of doubles...and put a nice big dent in the bottom..i think where it hit a stone on landing.
dave

then the chassis wouldn't be hardened !!!!
lol !!
swift keeps surprising me :hammer:

you will have to buy a pro one then

i think its made of cheese maybe :)
yeah I'm looking at buying a pro off a guy on here in the usa..just trying to work a good price for us both and making it worth my while when customs get me :)
dont spose anyone knows the best shipping methods from the usa to the uk that will incur the least wrath from hm customs?
i was going to get it on 48hr.
i know stuff from hong kong ems is pretty good at avoiding customs charges

dave

I just sold my Pro swift
same price as i got it from german importer though

when I import items from usa
best is to ask to send it,
as a present,
worth say 60.00 for kits
and send ems,
without invoice
(if the shop )wants to do all that
my shop does it and say, for a jammin pro or avenger kit
I only have to pay 333,00+9,80 euro for customs passing :) :) :) :) :) :)

thanks for that :)
why did you get rid of the swift pro?
is it a much better car than the swift2? or did you not feel it is a competetive car.

dave

swiftnocious

I just bought it to late
I was just loosing interest in the swift because of the little problems all the time
now it's your chassis that isn't hardened enough, the tank is giving problems when nearly empty, the swift2 had a fronttower with a hole to large for the suspension axle passing through it, in the past the outdrives and gears were not hardened or shimmed.....the marketing changes are a mess, even I can do it better..

this car became enoying to me, that's all.....
and I liked much more the original lila colors of schumacher then the us pattern pro's mix
now the pro should be alright, there is still the tank issue and getting pro parts and not mixing them with old parts. The 4 screws holding the diffs together, got to be fastened just enough not to crash the internal big gaskets of 0.3 mm to much, causing the gears to be too close to each other. The shocks and new diffs look ok but with swift you always have the problem thinking: but, are they really ok in the end!!

now I bought a Mayhem pro at 270,00 + 55 postage,
no big problems insight what so ever
it's cheap, well made, drives like a prospec or xb8, it goes together like a xb8, all gears and outdrives are milled and hardened!, parts are really cheap: 5 pounds for 4 tuning shocksprings..and you don't need many..nor tuning parts
this buggy is beautifull, modern and doesn't break easily
a real alternative to the swift pro :) :) :smoke:

so I now am even selling my xb8 "prospec" ! fitted with RMV front torquerod and 1piece motormount, blue carbon wheelscrappers...
by the way Dinball rcmart is really selling the real swift pro for 251.40 usd

ok thanks for that
i managed to track a new one down in the uk pretty cheap,so will have that tomorrow.

the swift ran good at the meeting i ran at,no problems except for the hoboa clutch i was using..started dragging and cut then engine in the final :(

dave

anyone have a good setup for the swift for a quite bumpy grippy track on astroturf, something thats stable and doesn't get thrown off line by the bumps, the kit setting on swift 2 was ok but didnt accelerate thru the bumps, you could hear the engine note as the car was constantly leaving the ground and regaining grip on landing thru the bumpy sections.
i have swift pro now so any setups would be great.
