Hey Tim, did you change the outdrives in your swift because those look alot different than any other outdrives i've seen.

Not changed anything yet, the picture was taken as it came out the box.

The box label says '1105R Swift2 Buggy' which I am hoping is from the latest run of kits.

Tim.

swift2 is with hardened diff outputs and upgraded driveshafts and other bodies
I don't know if the diffs are shimmed though

The diffs should be shimmed if they are coming out of the U.K. Could someone take a picture of the new drive shafts ? I would like to see them.

I have completely stripped down my Swift now. Its a very easy buggy to work on.

Am pleased to say that the diffs were properly shimmed, and the CVDs had flats machined on the pins.

My only complaint is the front shock tower upper arm pivot pin holes being oversized. Is this common or was I just unlucky?

Note
The complete strip down probably isn't necessary for the Swift2's as every bolt was extremely well thredlocked!

Awesome to see the pics. I know you will be happy when you start racing. Your buggy will be the one to reckon with at the track.

Yet then, if we raced heh heh heh, MINE would be.

Enjoy your toy. :)

Time to go put a new piston and sleeve in my TMAXX.. Sirio tx-18 needs a tune up.

Just got the 7075 shock towers today, very nice they are:-

Quite a bit different from the original design.

Not sure about the strawberry colour though!

Hmmm...

I thought all the pro-kit stuff was going to be finished with black anodising?

is it good to convert?

I mop!
I don't know if is good or not to convert. I'm converting it becoouse we are tired of buggys and want to try something diferent...
I see the pics od snake-a-licius car and thats great !!
i think its possible to make it like GS does the Sut (right from the Storm)
Just want to know if the swift can handle it too!!!
I love truggys!! heheh ! but i don't want to spend 650€ in one new! that's the price we pay for it here in Pt!! :(
a Conversion will bee much more cheaper... i think!!1 :|
thanks for reply

pivot pin holes

about the pivot pin holes: are the pins turning in this hole or not ?
else one could put some varniss into the hole, till the right set is achived
what would you recomment as still necessary to look into with the swift2 ?

From what I've seen, all the stamped shock towers have those holes oversized. I saw the prototypes, complained, and the plea went to deaf ears.

The upgrade parts were going to be black until Mario Hudy complained about "Chinese companies" ripping off his stuff. European and American companies never copy anything, of course. Apparently Hudy has a trademark on black anodizing with machined edges (<---joke!).

We just changed the upgrade parts to a copper color. The edges of those were supposed to be machined too.

Zoom Zoom Zoom

Nice to see ya posting Cams.
I can't wait 4 Sundays anymore. Can we have 2 Sundays a week. Lets get it on the next Election ballots.

Ima goin nutz. :hammer: :boxing: and yummy

please post a picture of the strawberrycolor milled shocktowers against the uk purple colored parts, must look delicious or distasteful ! :lick:  :constipat

How about anodising the upgrade parts in (wait for it) purple!
Purple would go with both US silver/champagne colour & the UK purple,

but Hotbodies have kind of done purple, blues been done to death,

how about Green, those mini ipods look really good in green.
Actually the upgrade parts would look cool in green!

Tim.

you took the words out off my mouth , it should have been purple coloured :egad: .

now personally, I had enough off it, I decided not to purchase the swift buggy, too many mistakes are been made by the manufacturers :cross: :censored:
but congratulations to power-racing for their efforts :marshall:

it a real pity, it could have been a succes story  :nono:

Mistakes are made on everything and anything regardless of the product. Now, pertaining to the swift,,,,,,, Yes there were some needed upgrades, and prp stepped up and made corrections where needed. Go get yourself a Mugen and pay through the nose for a buggy with NO engine and electronics. Add the missing parts and you have a buggy, THAT STILL HAS MISTAKES. I race against a couple on sundays and I see what I see. They are nice, yet costly.
Alot of breakage issues come from driver/pit crew error, and the manufactures take the hits. Look at ANY ANY ANY RC chat boards on various models and notice that 80% add hop ups to their Rc's. :argue:

yes I understand , I myself find that there is a place for nice cheaper cars, I neither can normally spend 1800 dollars for a complete race car and I have 3 neightbourhood kids, age 13 to 17, who want me to find a nice car for their limited budget, but how do I explain that the frontsuspension is moving around on the chassis because a chinese worker made a hole to big on the shocktower and they will have to order a milled one or the 2, for 30 dollar each, but again these will be in a strange color you know ....... and before, I had to say also:the diffs will need to be opened and to be shimmed and the pins will come loose if we don't...
the mean raison of life, of a cheap car must be, that it is made robust in his standard form

I myself just love the swift , it's beautiful, with his 4 brakepads, the mugenfront, the carbon all around, now the diffs are shimmed, the driveshafts are upgraded but  the big hole is over the hill for me
I don't see another brand having these problems.... and in the case at the least, they would give a upgraded item in replacement for free :ponder: or they wait and don't get it out for sale till the item is replaced
I know what problems you can have with the chinese, but you have to kick their asses right away, like that or not at all, it's the only way they will understa
question : has the fronttower of the first badge swift mkI have the hole right ?then one could use one of these
