Thank you very much. I appreciate the help. How strong are these things? Am I going to break it easily, or are they pretty strong like the OFNA's?

They are impressibly durable on crashes. Like any 1/8th scale, i would get a-arms, shock shafts, and that should do it.

Okay, well I have pretty much decided to get the Swift now. The radio is a huge plus because the one that comes in the OFNA RTR kits is total garbage IMO. Also, the Swift has all of the parts out of kits that are damn near twice as expensive from what I am seeing. Thanx again for the help... Is there any way to tell if I may need the shims... while I am at the store? In other words, is there a way to tell if it is a "newer" kit at all? Thanx again guys for all of the help, this kit seems to be awesome, and definitely the best bang for the buck.

You're gonna have to shim the diffs regardless because the mesh of the large and small beval gears have too much space between them. Shim part numbers for you:

1) Power Racing Products part # 61401 ( 6 shims ) You need 2 packages of these.

2) Mugen Seiki part # C0227 ( 24 shims )

3) Yokomo part # ZC-S50S ( 18 shims with various thickness' )

WA2FAST: I am glad you went with the Swift, and that I was able to help you. PLease let us know if we can help you in any way.

Roger: Thanks for posting the Shim information.

Roger, It was actually the Team Losi championship race, but thanks anyways. Hopefully we can continue it at the nationals.

Well, I picked it up, got a heat probe and a bottle of fuel with it too. I am ready to go, I think that I will break it in, then go through the diff and then loc-tite everything (that needs to be that is). I don't know what I am looking for with the shims... what do I do here. Obviously take the diff out, but I don't have any experience with this... is there a tutorial on this? Is there anything else I need to know? Thanx again guys.

Yeah, right after I wrote that, I hit every page on that site and found that section. Sorry for not looking before speaking. I will check into it. Do you think I should go over that first, or go ahead and break it in first (run the first few tanks and get it tuned in)?

You know its up to you. You should not be getting on it hard when you are breaking it in anyway, so it is up to you. Don't forget to do the CVJ's after break in. Have fun.

HIREz, I assume you mean races I will be attending, is that correct. To be honest with you I am not sure yet after the nats. I pretty much go where they want me to go. Any cool races that you know off.

hmm the only ones I know of are, proline first series race was this last weekend, then upcoming at hemet.

and for races I usually follow,
proline's racing portion of the web-site,
panther-rc.com 's site,
rccaraction's site for big event news,
and then any hear-say from the locals.
You should come up to check out the new Antioch / Deltarc track on saturdays its pretty sick, and then small indoor track on thursday nights in Napa at Extreme Motorsports.

Roger, I know they look good. I am not looking to change my scheme, just tired of painting them. Plus I go through quite a bit of bodies, and try to paint 4-5 at a time.

Always looking to do more, those examples are pretty old on the site, I just don't have the excessive time to put up the site, only time I have is spent racin' *grin* , drop me an email, I'd be happy to take on the paint duties. The more the merrier,,, if u know anyone that needs paint duties done , send em my way, always good to keep the lights on...

actually if u want 4-5 at a time, send me an one extra, so that I can always play around with your scheme on something you might not use. just as a concept..something that you might switch up to for next season, etc, etc, .....
actually paints dry gotta get back so I can get out to napa to run the buggy, and drop off some quarter scale bods.. Lolzz
Lates!!
