I found this in this months rc car action mag. The first thing you need to do is get a short length of fuel line and put a zip tie threw it. then shape into a circle and put iton your cooling head and attach with zip ties. Hopefully this will save you some money on buying a new cooling head.:bling:

If you flip your rig upside down, the head will almost certainly come in contact with the running surface. This will always cause heavy abrasions and scratches on your cooling head.

Putting zip-ties will help, but I actually like this tip a lot better, it will protect the entire head, all the way around from scraping the ground.

The zip-tie simply hits the ground first, stopping the head from coming in contact, and the tip presented here is a good way to protect the ENTIRE cooling head from any contact.

Great tip mate, Kudos on that.

I tried this on a pro .15 and it doesn't work. The engine runs too hot and melts the zip ties.

If your engine is running so hot as it is melting zip ties then scratching the head is the least of your worries.

I have run zip ties on a lot of my engines and I have never melted one. I will say that they will get brittle if they have been on there for a while.. from heating up and cooling off.. they will need to be replaced when you can snap them off easy with your fingers.

its how the engine loves to run. was a poor design at the time... I'm surprised they are reusing it.
