I'm going to be doing my first multi-color paint Job but I read you must use the darkest colors first. How would one go about making a black hood on a blue body? Should I just mask of the hood then paint the body blue and then remove the tape then spray the hood? Or mask around the hood and paint the hood first. Thanks.

Mask around the hood and paint the hood first. Then paint the blue body color.

If you are using tape, make sure you use the blue painters tape.

Instead of taping the whole body just to paint the hood, I trim out the hood with tape then use news paper to cover the rest of the body...tape the news paper around the hood and let the rest drape over the rest of the body. Before you start painting double check the the tape is well stuck, I use the rounded end of my exacto knife and run it on all of the edges to try and prevent bleed through.

Alright guys I did my 2nd paint job today I used the same blue I used on my first because I loved the color and I sold my car and the body the other day. So this time i tried the black hood like I was curious about it wasn't that bad as I had previously thought it would be. Here are the pics! I'm still debating which wheels I like best. This thing is a drifter by the way.

absolutely! It's not very difficult either..at least not on flat areas.
