I bought Proline Wabash 40 series wheels & crimefighter tires today, and also had to buy the 23 mm HD hex conversion kit {part # 6033-00} today.
I get home, excited, and the converson hex hub will not slide over the axle!! The hole on the hub is too small. Has anyone heard of this problem? is it meant to be a REALLY tight fit? Should I force it on? Should I drill the hub hole to size?..............{I have the Savage, and not the Savage X, if this helps}. Any suggestions would by great! Thanks.

The Proline hubs are specific for the Savage. What model did you get?

The part number you should have is #6033-00

The package says.....6033-00 23mm HD hex Fits Savage. I wonder if it was a manufacturer error? I am In an american working in Kuwait....and parts here are slim. The hobby shop may not take it back. So I wonder if I should rig it???? Decisions...decisions!

Are you sure that you have assembled it properly?

You have the right part #.The adapters should fit right over the axles. I'd try going back to the hobby shop and exchanging if they are defective. Unless you have acess to a drill press, I would not try to enlarge the hole. If you drill it slightly off center you will end up with a wobbly wheel.

True...true. I think I have forced one on there {by means of nut and wrench}, and I and gonna run it to make sure it isnt wobbly. I checked both packages, and the hubs are all the same. Man, it sure is a tight fit!!!!!

I got them all on there!!!!! I just applied some 3 n' 1 oil to the axles and hubs, and I aligned the axle pins, and they slid right on there as I thightened the hub nuts!!!! I am glad, because I REALLY like the way my new, expensive, wheels and low-pro tires look......and I sure they will perform great on the track. I just hope Its not a b!%*h getting the hubs off!!!!
Should I glue them, or are the low-pros good without glue?
Thanks!!!!

I advise against the glue. If anything on my Revo and the Proline hubs.. I used blue threadlock on the nut to secure the hub down. Glue will probably harm your axle and maybe more. The threadlock you would need to just heat hup the hub to loosen it up. IMO of course.

I think he is referring to gluing the tires to the wheels.

Ahh yes. My bad. Thanks Rob for pointing that out. For that matter depending on how well you can glue, a thick CA will cure slow and a thin CA will cure within a few seconds.

I suck at gluing so I use the thick stuff and a nice fat rubber band

........someone told me to superglue the tires, but I wonder if that will dry too fast. It worked for them........
