I'm not going to say it out loud but my guess is the brand of the cage???

I like the look of it. It looks like a bad ass sand rail. I'm surprised you didn't polish it.

Great job on the build! Looks like it would be a blast to run on the beach.

I cannot believe I've never seen this thread. Badass truck bro, very nice indeed.

Thanks Lessen, I appreciate it.

We have a winner! :D Not many choices out there for the pede, and I liked the looks of it, so far it's proving pretty stout too. Thanks Bergoff, I'm happy with how it turned out. Nah, too much work that's just going to get all dinged up anyway.

Thanks SD! I'd love to get it in some sand if there were any around. But I have to say, the Badlands that are usually on the rear hook up EVERYWHERE (well maybe not pavement, but who's gonna ruin good knobbies on pavement?), they really are an amazing bashing tire.

Me neither. That's easily the fanciest pede I've ever seen. Great job bro. Most would have went with billet carriers and rpm arms, but I applaud you for going against the grain and doing it your way. Great thread, start to finish. I'm itchin' for some video though.:)

Thanks Matt. I went with the billet arms because I wanted it wider to help with stability with the lengthened chassis. Video is sort of lame IMO, but here you go;

I seen the video about 5 minutes after I posted.:) I thought it was pretty cool. The octopede seems pretty stable.

Thanks Matt, the chassis really made it much easier to drive, and definitely more stable. It was almost uncontrollable on 3S stock.

Don't know how I missed this thread, but that is definitely one bad ass rig! I love the look with the cage.

Thanks NCNitro, I wondered how it would look when I bought it, but I'm stoked at how it turned out for sure.

Another addition, scored it on ebay cheap brand new. Uses half the batteries of my system, has all the adjustments I'll ever need, and it's 2.4, so I've officially caught up with the 21st century. :D

One more addition, this one's for Cody, he was right. I destroyed the Traxxas wheelie bar in no time flat, so I bought an RPM bar. I think it lasted maybe twice as long, destroyed it too, they just can't take it. So I bought a swami bar, I've only got to run one pack through it thanks to the weather, but so far so good, it's beefy for sure.

It has stupid amounts of power as is. I can rip the front tires off the ground at 30mph or so on 3s, it really doesn't need anymore to be honest. And the stock Velineon system hasn't missed a beat either.

Your right those venlineons are strong. But your missing the all the red I can stand appeal. However that is a nice alloy chassis.....I gave serious consideration to the FLM version when it was on sale.

Since I can't comment on the build in Ride of the Month, I have to say, I give you full props here! The build is VERY NICE! I am NOT a fan of the aluminum parts unless you're building a shelf queen. You were DEFINITELY fortunate on the timing of the build too. You were able to get the parts from manufacturers when there was still such a thing as 'high quality aluminum parts'. Now all that is left with little exceptions is the gpm and intigy. ('Sad face' parts) Its nice to know it's still together and still looking as sharp as is was when you built it! Great work!!! :thumbs-up:

Thank you sir! It's been a good rig, still is. Sadly, I don't do much RC these days. Other hobbies have kind of taken over, even though I have buddies that harass me to go fly from time to time. I just kinda lost interest after 20 years or so.

That is a shame! I have to say tho, I have done the same with RC where I fade in and out of it. I guess maybe between the weather and life in general, it doesn't bother me So much right now. Only thing I can really do is indoor electric race and my only race ready car is vintage. Not ready to go beat up my 'queen by default' cars. Saving up for the associated b64 and then I want to get back into the groove.
I'm sure you'll find the inspiration to run here and there and will be back in before you know it!
Beautiful rig! Great work!
