Hey guys I put up a thread to see if it would be possible to convert my 1/10 acme condor buggy into an on-road car and i got a couple of answers saying ya it would be possible so i'm doing it lol..Welcome to Project "Low 'n Slow..i meen fast".

Here is a list of what i will be doing and parts i'll use to convert my buggy to an on-road car:
-Putting fuel tubing in the shocks to get the car to sit nice and low.
-Put on some good on-road tires.
-Put on a on-road body.
-Drop in my brand new O.S. max .15cv-x.
-Put in a better radio and reciver.
-Put in some better servo's(recomedations would be great).
-Find a better pipe to put on the car.
-Run some nice looking fuel lines.
-Get new rims or RIT dye origanals.
And lastly just make the car go really fast lmao.

First thing i had to do was strip the buggy and clean it cuase it hasn't been cleaned for a while and it had ton's of nitro crap on it..

Just starting to strip the buggy down for cleaning:

Fully striped ready for cleaning:

Starting to put the buggy back together after cleaning:

Pretty much fully put back together after cleaning:

now i just need to take apart the shocks and rebuild them so the car sits nice and level..probobly do that in a lil while..i need to take a break for now..i sat on the concrete florr for 7 hours today rebuilding that car lmao..and suggestions on wheels and tires woulf be apretiated to...white would be best so i can dye them...the hexes are 12 mm i think..

Thanks for looking and tell me what you think.

Nice job on cleaning it! I dont like cleaning mine, mind if i send them to you :D

sure lol...actually i don't like cleaning them either but i figured that if i'm doing a project with it i want it to be clean...so i striped it took my time and cleaned..now i have a nice clean car to make a project outa...

i just put mine in the shower with me, saves time...lol.

ok guys i have an udate already lmao...i just could stand looking at the car on top of my tv stand with outh working on it any more so i dove into it again...I got fuel tubing into all of the shocks so now it sits nice and low...i made it with a 10 penny ride hight(5/8 inch)..heres some pics:

again thanks for looking...thats a check off the list lol..what kinda servo's you guys recomd?..i want something with lots of torque for the steering and something that will give me a good throttle response for throttle/brake..

As long as it doesn't start up, otherwise you could loose a toe.....or worse :D lol

ouch!!!

Thats looks real good low. One thing i noticed, you may need new rear tires, just a possibility. :D I think you've got a fair bit of use out of them!

update: i was looking around at bodies and i found this one...Nissan 350z..it's a 1/8 on-road body and i think it should fit..what do you guys think?...

i did a serch on the car that body is made for and here are the specs of the car it is made for:
Specifications:
Length: 18.9 in. (480mm)
Width: 12.2 in. (310mm)
Height: 5.3 in. (135mm)
Wheelbase: 12.8 in. (325mm)
Ground Clearance: .4 in. (10mm)
Track Width: (F/R) 10.31 in. -10.43 in. (262mm - 265mm)
Tire Size: (F/R) 3.58 in. x 1.88 in. (91mm x 48mm)
Gear ratio: 10.8:1 (1st) / 8.37:1 (2nd)
Total Weight: 116.4 oz. (3300g)
Engine: GXR 28 with pull start

here are specs off what my car is:
Length:14inches
width:10 3/4 inches
wheel base(stud to stud):aproximently 11inches

do you think that that body will fit?..and do you like that body?

hey guys time for an update..

When i got home from school today i decided to try and figure out some thing to make body posts outa...i though about this for a good hour befor i looked in my r/c box and found some mgt body posts..chi-ching i've got a winner..they'll work perfect i just have to cut them down once i get the body..and speking of bodies i will be picking up the 350z body that i put in my last post..anyway here are some pics of what i did:

Front body mount(yes i said MOUNT):
mycondor019.webp

Rear body mounts:
mycondor017.webp

Side view of them:
mycondor018.webp

Now i have a question..Do you guys think that the front will work with one mount like that and do you think the back mounts are ok or should i try and spread them apart more??...now i just need some advice on servo's and wheel/tire combos for it...please post suggestions

-Austin

The Hitec 645MG should do fine. Since this is an on-road car, I think the posts should be wider apart to help keep the fender from hitting the tire when it bumps into anything.

thanks for the advic..time for an update..since you said i should make the body post wider i went and stole more parts off my mgt lol..i took the other part off of my mgt and added it on here...
here is a pic:

hey guys i have a question for a radio to use...i was looking around and trying to figure out what radio to use and i found to possibility's...i found thid one and i like it... Spektrum DX3.0 DSM 3 Channel Radio w/ SR3000 Receiver (No Servos)..but then i also saw this one.. Spektrum DX3R DSM2 3CH Surface High Speed Racing Radio..it's not like i need 30 model memory lmao so is the first one a pretty good radio for me to get or should i just save up for a couple more months and get the second one..

update time...for some reason i kept re-thinking the body that i chose before so i went looking for better bodies...i went to the proline website and found this.. PF8-GT...i like this body alot better and will be ordering this after noon...does anybody know how long shipping usually is from proline??

-Austin

Looks sweet man and that body would look nice mounted on there as long as your wheel base will work with it, again great job with the conversion...
