I'm going to drill holes to mount the body, I don't want to have to keep messing with it when it rolls over.

Slow, no video yet but it shouldn't be long.

Finally got the Chevy body mounted.

That's one heck of a good idea... I always thought 2.2 scale crawlers used axles that weren't very true to scale. That however looks spot on :)

It's a 1.9 truck with very narrow axles. To give you an idea of the size, here it is next to my Wheely king

It's now running a Novak Rooster esc, Holmes Hobbies mini torque master motor, Hitec 225mg servo...more power everywhere! I also painted the rings black and mounted some Rock Crushers. Honestly for me the mudslingers work better but I think the crushers just look better and still work ok.

Now my friend, I need some information. I am looking at doing a scaler with a hard body next year, and it's gonna have to be MRC based because of the size (it's that Freelander shell I was talking about).

What is the track width of the axles as they are set up there?

Thanks :D

Also does anyone know of some slightly smaller, maybe 3-inch diameter, wheel & tyre combos that fir the MRC axle?

Sorry to hijack, I'm just all exctited now I've seen it can be done. My li'l scaler project might be back on the cards :D

Great looking rig, those tyres really suit it too. Are they from RC4WD?

The axles are 6 1/4 inches (around 158mm) wide without the wheels on them.

I have read about some 1.5 wheels and tires that might be smaller but I don't really have any info on them.

Don't worry about hijacking the thread, thats what threads are for :D

The tires are 1.9 Rock Crushers from RC4WD.

Now get to work on the Freelander!

so all you did is swap out the chassis? or did you need any other parts? besides the wheels and electronics

I had to make chassis braces, plates to mount electrics and battery on the links, used odd body post to mount the body, and various nuts and bolts to make everything fit. I've done so much tweaking on it I can't honestly tell you what all I put on it but it does great for what it is.

There is something about this truck, I never once mentioned selling it or even hinted that I might want to sell it but I have gotten more cash and trade offers on this truck that any rc that I have sold and a few of them were very nice but this one is a keeper.

yeah id rather build one then buy it lol i love sitting down working on my cars and trying to make it work with what I've got, thats the fun part.

I've got it down that i can take my rc 18 completely apart and rebuild it in about 20 mins lol

A new look for the Losi

It's been a while since I have made a change to this thing but it was time. I picked a Blackfoot body for it. I had to shorten the wheelbase a little but it's a nice fit. I'm not sure if I'm going to leave the beater look or trying to put a decent looking paint job on it.

nice that looks good man. the beat up look tells the other rigs I'm a bada$$ scaler.

looks pretty good man, nice job.

I'm going to fill a few holes outline a few things and maybe hit it with some primer spots.

A little update on the mrc. The body got into an accident with my lexan scissors and duct tape, folded the rockers by hand (nice and straight LOL) also strapped on a new set of wheels and tires....The performance is pretty good.
