With the 2 speed, where did you put the shims?

What do you mean by alum 2 speed, you mean as in shoes? that wouldn't be a good idea unless you had a steel housing otherwise shoes and housing would wear. The only problem I had with 2 speed was not using top quaility hex tools, the crap hex tool stripped out head of adjusting screw.

watch the instructions on the 2-speed. When i bought my two speed they were not very clear and the fit was not right. I had to get some shimms to take up some of the play between the two spur gears. They tended to wobble and were not wearing correctly after install. Once they were shimmed I have had no problem.
Also, carefull when building the 2-speed clutch. I'm on my 3rd cause the adjustment screws kept stripping the plastic housing and tended to get stuck in 2nd gear. Now its fine.

Anyone know of an alum 2-speed clutch? I'm no expert but i've only ever seen plastic ones.

hey i put the two speed together and the gears dont wobble one bit at all i donno what your talking about maybe you forgot a washer or something.......I'm gonan work on the car later tonight and get more pics

They don't when new :)
If you check the new Clutch/2 speed system the gears are held in by 3 screws, not circlip..

update- assembled the front and rear block to the chassis as well as the drive shaft and servo saver, ide say 60% of the car is finished will have pics tomarow morning

car is done minus buper shocks and body, pics are up in my gallery for those that are interested, a few things i found difficult where threding the screws......my fingers feel like there gonna bleed, another thing was getting the springs around the clutch nut for the three shoe clutch, there is a mistake in the directions that pertains to the rear arm it doesn't show you how to build the pro rear arms. also the instructions are vague butif you have ever built a kit or dissasembles a car than you should be fine, the parts fit great and nothing was mising at all. ill let you know when the car is ready to run.

alrighty i finished break in tuesday night, yesterterday i went WOT and even with setting that where rich the car was insanley fast the two speed kicked in and it was as if someone kicked it from behind. then i was driving down the block and i clipped a tire of a parked car with my left front weel and both pivot balls snapped :depress:
