after much debate with friends I decided to go with the ld3 I ordered the ld3 pro kit/ picco .12r engine combo from wwwnitrohouse.com along with 50,000 silicone diff oil, 60 wt shock oil, a nimh hump pack and some glow plugs. ill keep you posted with my mistakes and tips as well as pics as soon as i get it and start the building.

PLeaz do!! I'm interested in knowing how well they perform. ALso, how much did it set you back? Under 400 i hope.

Awsome price. Thats how much a gt4rtr2 or a 4tec costs at my lhs. Let us know how it performs!!

My grand total was 413.20 with shiping, the shipping was 46 bucks due to the fact that the pachage was 18 pounds and i did the 2-3 day expedited shipping. I will have the kit by wedsday if not thursday. ill take pics of everything when i get it and while I'm building and keep you guys posted on everything. from what i hear this car is awsome. it performs great its just not popular thats all. i talked to some of the guys at radiocontrolzone.com and they said the parts quality is alot better than the nitro tc3 and the nitro tc3 doesn't come with a 2 speed. and the fact that you get a picco engine and an 80 dollar pipe definatly makes it a steal for 320 bucks. I still have to get a starter box some guages and foams for this race season. But ill keep everyone posted on how its working out.

I have the original LD3 with a 2-speed and am hoping to make it race worthy this season. I havent decided exactly which brands I'll be using just yet but the parts list to be upgraded is as follows;

Engine
Pipe
Steering and Throttle servos
Gearing should be ok but
2shoe to 3shoe Clutch
Chassis (orginal has been tweaked by wild attack curb)
foams all around
RS3000 receiver so that I can use my XS3 radio

Let me know how yours turns out and I'll try to keep you updated on mine.

yeah its not but you can do two things, the pro kit is 220 and the comco with the engine is 320 and the engine by itself is 110(all prices from nitro house). If you dont want the picco you can get the kit byitself and pick up a nice os or fhantom racing mill for about 110-150 and get a pullstart. I got the picco because the pullstarts add weight and a good starter box goes for about 60 bux or you can get one used form the forums or on ebay for 30.

You racers and weight:OMG: (jk, i wish i could race but there are no frickin tracks near me.)

I hear you on the fantom...great engines.

update.......had some shipping issues with nitrohouse verifying the shipping adress......getting the package tomarow :p you should get picks soon.

I've got the "outside USA" version of the LD3 Pro, and it rocks :) Its got a thicker chassis and centax clutch. I was so happy with how it drives I got a Ld3 Std to race in pullstart class (again, different to the USA version, this one comes with Alloy shocks not lexan ones)

Id rather bump start engines, more power.. BWahahaha :wedgie:

yeah i have to get a starter box but I'm broke till next paycheck.....I'm racing my ld3 this summer at willis hobbies in new york city. the car should be here by 3-4 pm eastern according to UPS. Ill take pics and tell those that are interested in getting the kit how hard it is to build what to watch out for etc.

okay so far i built both diffs and working on the front diff case....the parts are a dream to work with and the fit is good the instructions are also very good in my opinion.

watch the instructions on the 2-speed. When i bought my two speed they were not very clear and the fit was not right. I had to get some shimms to take up some of the play between the two spur gears. They tended to wobble and were not wearing correctly after install. Once they were shimmed I have had no problem.
Also, carefull when building the 2-speed clutch. I'm on my 3rd cause the adjustment screws kept stripping the plastic housing and tended to get stuck in 2nd gear. Now its fine.

Anyone know of an alum 2-speed clutch? I'm no expert but i've only ever seen plastic ones.

So where are the pics at?

how do i get em in the post?

update, front diff and the tranny and rear gear box has been built......the screws where hard to thread into the clutch shoes but i got it......the parts are a great fit but the way they are grouped into the bags is a little funny...............sometimes you have to go into a completly differnt bag for a little part that u need in a differnt part of the car

so far i think its great the parts fit is amazing and the quality of the plastic parts is better than any other car I've had.

let's see, hmm put them in your gallery first off, then insert them into the message with th IMG button.
