I got this nitro bike in a trade, and the previous owner was in the middle of converting it to electric. He gave me all the stuff he had collected for it including a 13t motor, micro esc, and a traxxas radio setup. He had already made a plate to mount the motor, and that was about it.

Here is is in all its nitro glory.

so far i havent put any money into it, i used stuff i had around or what came with it. I used the stock throttle servo mount to hold the RX and made a plate out of an old maxx skid plate to hold the ESC. i cleaned up the plate a little, and used velcro straps from my ax10 to hold the battery on.

ITS ALIVE!!!

well it moves anyway. I drove it down the street a couple of times and i must say its unlike anything I've ever driven. I HAVE to get some slide guards before i drive it again, i ate up the ends of the pack on the concrete. Its quite interesting to drive, and doesn't turn very sharp at all. you start the turn and it kind of leans into it, then you accelerate and turn the other way to bring it back up.

I'm still plauged with range issues, and i think there is a black hole or something down the block.

Now Mr. Nessel, Your turn!! :D

here is is all rigged up.

I'm going to get a few things for it, like the spring for the front end, and some slide guards. I will probably send the motor plate to racer to get him to mill me a nice one.

Upgraded electronics will come eventually. once i get it to go without running out of range in 25 yards.

I need a video camera!

DAMN!! thats a very nice set-up you got going. Whenever you got it running, take a vid of it. :whhooo:

Pretty cool Blake. Does that transverse mounted pack make it unstable at all?

well.. i dont really have anything to compare it to. but i would say not really. it did seem wobbly but i never really opened it up for obvious reasons.

there is room under the body to mount it long ways, and that is how the electric version is mounted, i may try that next time.

Nice bit of engineering ingenuity! When you first posted about this bike I wondered if it was ever going to be road worthy. Great job!!!

you doubted me?? :D

i found the stuff i need to finish it up, but they want $10 to ship a couple of little envelopes of stuff, so I'm gonna keep looking and see if i can find them somewhere else. i really need to find a different battery location, or different pack. the I'm gonna take it out to an open parking lot and see what it will do.

Its not extremely fast right now, but just the "dude you have an RC motorcycle??" wow factor is good enough for me at the time being. later on i may go back to nitro and try to fit a pico 26 and a 2 speed. :D

to bad i dont have the 5T, it would look wicked on a trailer behind it!!!
