My NTC3 has a problem with the rear end kicking out and drifting on corners. It has always done that ever since I got the car. Especially after I switched out engines to the Sirio .12 EVO, the back end kicks out alot easier. The front end sticks pretty good, but the back end will definitely drift on you, even w/ the smallest curve.

Since it has always done this for me, I have gotten used to simply drifting around corners. But I would like the rear end to stick on the corners instead of drifting around the corners. I know it is probably something w/ my setup, so I need to see what you guys recommend?

Bro you need to adjust one of the shocks so it won't kick out. I learned that from the XXX-Main touring car set up guide. It took me a couple of times to get it but it does work.

Not an authority on setup, but my hunches would be to (1) soften the rear shocks, (2) softer inserts in the tires, (3) stickier tires in the rear. You could also attempt to loosen the front end with stiffer shock settings but that may cause 4 wheel drift. Just a few guesses. Don't take it as gospel since I don't actually race.....

id say enjoy it...some people pay good money trying to make there cars drift :jk:

i agree from what i hear softening the rear shocks will help

i bet you burn tires like crazy?

Do you have the original version or version2? Only asking becaue version 2 has a front oneway that will allow it to kickout during deceleration in a turn and also spin on braking.

Otherwise, it's a suspension tuning issue. I would go to the manual and get the setups there the back to get it to stock settings. Make sure you use the setips specified for either foam or rubber tires.

Once you have that, make adjustments to one thing at a time. I am sure your suspension needs tweaking. You can adjust the tweak with the threaded shock bodies but before you do so, adjust the ride height and droop according to the manual specs.

Once that s done, to adjust the suspension tweak, do the following steps on this LINK granted it's for a different vehicle but the process is the same. For a more accurate way of doing this process, get an INTEGY suspension tweak board.

For the setup, use the tools included in the NTC3 package for now, but I really do suggest getting a Setup board like the HUDY (most expensive) INTEGY or a PMB board (most cost efficient at less than $60)

As everyone said, this is probably a tuning issue but also check your dogbones in the rear if they turn freely. It may be binding or the bearings in the hub carrier may not be turning freely.

Diver, it is verion 1 and does not have the front oneway.

I will take it back to factory settings and try tweaking the shocks like you posted and see how she runs. There isn't any binding at all. The whole drivetrain glides smooth as silk, so I know it is definitely a setup problem.

Thanks for the info.

I wish I had the set up/ tweak board at that time it would have made my life soooo much easier. I am looking to getting a NTC3 sometime again ..which board is recommended and user friendly?

Ok, with the information clarified, do the readjustments in the following order ... very important otherwise your setup will be worth crap ....

1. Adjust ride height
2. Adjust droop
3. Check tweak of suspension
4. Now you can adjust the setup (wheel alignment)
*footnote to remember, if you have antiroll bars, disconnect them. You want the suspension to move independantly on each corner.

Jon, the HUDY is nice (the new version) but I would get the INTEGY board. It's annodized purple and the markings are in white so the contrast will allow you to see the incriments more easily. The Integy suspenion tweak board is also great. That's what I use.

The Integy board is nice, it's aluminum and I've seen it on eBay for 60-70. I've also seen the PMB, which is acrylic for about 40 on eBay

Problem with acrylic is actually seeing the marks line up correctly. That's why I suggest the Integy.

Couple more ideas for getting more bite in the rear:
* toe-IN the rear wheels 2 degrees if they are not.
* check the rear diff, should be pretty stiff.
* make sure the front wheels aren't binding when turned all the way.
(if using the outer lower shock mount, will rub the wheel unless you file it)
* the racing body should have a good touring wing (not like the integra)
* if those are ok, its a shock thing.
