Best bang for the buck... rock crawler/ mud bogger , brushless or brushed 1/10 scale
Ideas?
Kinda new at the RC world so not looking for a frame up build just yat but a RTR i like the old school trucks on a 1/10 scale
Ideas for the best bang for the buck on a rock crawler/mud bogger posable 2 speed

woooo what a question.
i personally have a king sling. it freaking slings!!!! i love it, its fast as fk boi!!!!! and its tough (sofar) i dont have a digger to compare it to tho so dont knopw how they stack.
i do know the sling swims thru mud spitting rooster tails behinjd it about 20 feet? you have to use throttle control cause if you just smash the throttle its just gonna dance a wheelie out untill you flip, 12/10 on fun factor and I'm going to be racing with it this season,
as far as crawlers go... o my.. the general concensus seems to be that vanquish sits atop the pyramid looking down on the other crawlers that attempt to reach their pinnacles, i dont have one and the kit seems to be the way to go with them and you specified you're looking for rtr. well i have a few of them bad boys lol, havent built a kit yet myself, just repaired enough parts on my 5 crawlers that i FEEL like I've built a few simply from the amount of work on em lol
ELEMENT ECTO: i love my ecto. supremely capable out of the box. fantasttic truck and probably my favorite that i own, it goes where i want it to almost every time, and mine has survived multiple 20 foot falls and kept on trucking.
AXIAL BASECAMP: we love the basecamp, got it for my son at an event and it made my other vehicles feel some kind of way. it also is a monster right out of the box, just added a little weight to keep it stable and its not rea;lly asked for many other upgrades,
TRAXXAS TRX4: bought an upgraded bronco from a forum member @MVRCA , he had al;ready performed hella tests on it and tweaked the suspension to fit his terrain. may not be the best for MY terrain, but its an awesome truck that has 2 speed function, so when we are climbing something i can lock it in and trusge up the hill, or on a flat aea open her up and rip hitting 4x the speed i can run lol
REDCAT ASCENT: WE GOT THE NORMAL ASCENT NOT THE ASCENT FUSION ooops so the normal ascent ( blue or red bodies)(fusion is black and red body only) this thing? this thing right here? amazeballs... it possibly more capable rtr than the others..... it took on the trails my upgraded trucks struggle with, i dont know if its because of the slightly smaller size, shorter wheelbase or what, but this thing WILL DO IT. period, its been getting the most love from me recently, turned it into an off road tow truck.
if you go with ANY of them you are going to be extremely pleased, all are goinf to perform like a mopfo right out of the box,
that being said, first things to swap are gonna be wheels and tires, then probably the servo make it stronger, so i tend to ignore those features as I'm gonna just remove em and throw em in a bag.

For crawlers my opinion is redcat or element. I love mine. Owned a bunch and they are by far the best bang for the buck. Axials are my next choice. I always buy used and end up rebuilding.
