well, the owner of the LHS said he couldn't build it cheaper than that at HIS cost. My point is, If HE is willing to pay me that for it, than someone else without the ability to get parts much cheaper would take the opportunity to get an already fully hopped up truck for a deal, but not raping me in the process.

well you asked what everyone thought & you got 2 pages of replys stating that they would take the $800

for better or worse most people will not put that much into a older design at least not all at once they would rather buy a new one & hop it up how they want...it hurts less to pay $30 at a time for hop ups even though you end up paying more in the end

kinda like credit cards you don't pay off or rent to own stuff, hurts less in the short run, but in the long run you are REALLY PAYING FOR IT

I can agree with you there, but I just want to get at least a good part of my money out of it while not taking a lump on it. All it does is look pretty on a shelf. I'm not driving it. I know if I break it it'll cost me out the ass to fix it. And I'll probably have to wait for parts.

I just want to sell it to someone who'll use it and I can get a better truck, or upgrade the savy.

I feel your pain. I have a waaaaaay hopped up maxx that I only keep because there aint no way in hell I could get even close to what I have in it if I were to sell it. I would rather keep it and use it once in a great while than give it away. I would have sold it long ago if I thought I could get close to what i had in it.

And as Plaid said, I too thought about parting it out, but I don't want to get left with a half a truck. So...mine sits here collecting dust.

I plan on pulling mine all apart, giving it a real good cleaning and putting a purdy new body on it so it will look real nice on the shelf. When I got it there were no other choices, I actually had three of them at once, but I quickly sold off two of the lesser hopped up trucks when I saw the bottom falling out of the T-Maxx market. And after owning them, I can honestly say I do not ever see myself buying another Traxxas product. My Savage SS has been a FAR better truck than the Maxx ever could have hoped to be.

So very true. I wouldn't dare hit my maxx with the savage. As expensive and strong my parts are, I still wouldn't challenge a savage in a game of chicken.

I enjoy my savage much more than the maxx because I know its tough. I've bounced that thing off of trees before and have had to replace nothing but the spur gear.

Good Job HPI.

I had a maxx I had over $1200 into and that was without the aluminum my dad stuck on it too. And I sold that for a little over $300... I'm still kinda walkin funny.

When I got my savage I was soo pissed I had wasted all that dough on my tmaxx. My savage right out of the box would have walked all over my maxx I had all hopped up.. grr.. But I couldnt be happier with my savage. Best Mt hands down imo.

If I had it to do all over again, I would have never bought that t-maxx. Every time I broke something, I upgraded. Over 3 months I had a completely upgraded maxx.

I bought mine because it was $30 cheaper than the savage. What a mistake I made....

well I made a few awsome deals to make mine so I'm not out all the cash but it's a tank now...I'd put my maxx up against a savage any day....even hopped up savages....but if I were going the start it from new route I wouldn't even buy the T-maxx to start w/ I'd just build one from scratch w/ good parts.....I personally like the design of the maxx......it definately is more geared towards racing than the savage geometry is......I've gone some head ons w/ other MTs and it just purred away from the carnage.....

i have about 3 grand in mine .and i would not sell it because u can't get what u put it it (800 at best)

BUT you have to remember just cause it was first, doesn't mean it is the best, but it did get A LOT of new people into RC so its not all bad about the maxx

take the 800 you will never get more than that for it.....

yeah i agree, if your wanting to get rid of it for some extra dough...sell it at that price. That would by you all kinds of $hit!!!
