sounds like just a one-way check valve to me. I had one on my car and it made it run too rick.

I ran a oneway on my maxx, and it did the same. Way to rich almost all the time.

I've since changed to an aluminum tank and for some reason, it doesn't seem to lean out like it does with the plastic tank. With the plastic tank, you would get the 30 second to a minute warning when your engine would get a different pitch to the exhaust note. At least I did when the tank was down to about 1/4.

When I put the aluminum one one, I no longer get the "warning". I'm just driving along and bbbrrrrrrrrrrrpppppppp..... it dies.

Must have something to do with the flexibility of the plastic. That's all I can think of.

I dont like the one ways when they are installed on the fuel line going to the carb. HOWEVER, on the line going from the exhaust to the tank, for backpressure, they have seemed to help. Especially on the Losi XXX-NT.

Could help the Savage, but dont forget, that tank is so big that no matter what, you will see a slight variance from a full tank to an almost empty tank, no matter what you do. A smaller, or better sealed tank will definately help the cause as well.

Ehhh seriously just get the hayes header tank. It seems to be the best solution for curing the leaning problem. I just mounted mine with a radiator clamp for 49 cents. Works well.
