i have a motor saver filter with the outer foam - and i was wondering if there is another foam filter that might fit over the hole thing. i saw a guy at the track with a big blue bulbish looking filter that seemed to cover the entire thing. my filter gets dirty real quickly and i wish i could just wash an outtie filter off, since its largely just large clumps of dirt.

Hey PHilly.....

WTF are you driving in mud..lol. I have a bash buddy that uses a cutom foam on the outside of his grey outside foam (motorsaver)...lol but he only runs it like this when he's mud bogging. It seriously restricts airflow to the engine but it's a moot point as he would destroy his engine in no time if he wasn't running it.

I wouldn't reco you running this unless it's absolutely necessary. What size motorsaver is it. I'll ask my buddy where/what he uses for his cutom foams.

I have used that only twice in my bashing time with my T-Maxx. Both times it ended up getting removed by the spur gear on a hard landing. Certainly does keep the chunks off the filter, but I have not found the need to use it as much as I thought I might.

Mine sits in the box as well. I take it out only on the days that the weather man call for a chunk cover.

It does keep the top of the filter much cleaner. The trade off is the possibility of the filter coming off at the base during impact due to the increase of weight.

An old MX trick on muddy days is to take pantyhose and tie it around the filter.....it breathes.....and you can remove it after a few tanks to reveal a clean filter....

Just an idea....lol

I'm running the savage motor filter, the smaller 2.5 dust covers dont fit.

i thought about running something like that, just to keep the cleaning down a little, as most of the dirt is on the outside.

i use panty hose to strain lumpy paints..its amazing how a man uses panty hose the best thing to probably do is have a bunch of replacements

Really didnt want to mention this but I also wore the pantyhose to keep warm......dont laugh....it works....lol

Another great use for Panty hose..ha. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't used panty hose for tons of chit over the years. Other then robing banks.

well i wasn't going to say anything, but now that you mention it, robbing banks with it is how i paid for the truck. how else can you pay for UE parts lol.
