So by accident I stumbled across this mustang body and I had removed my wpl body and bed to do some wireing and just had to try it. Damn it almost looks good. Just might have to run this. It is alot lighter then the wpl body. I do have a question about a different matter though. I also found a well whatever you call it but it has a brake. Just one thing it will stop the gear from turning but not the axle. Why is that? Don't make much since. Anyway does anyone know anything about this thing and what it come off of.

If it stops the gear from turning but not the wheels, I'm assuming its an open diff spinning unless a gear is broken. Looks real similar to the traxxas nitro sport nitro rustler transmission.

So call me stupid but I don't understand why that would be a thing. I would think you would won't to stop the truck but stopping just the gear just don't make any since to me. I'm still new to all this and never owned a nitro. Thanks alot on identifying the item I thought it was a cool find and kinda wonted to add it in to a build sometime but not shure now how that would be worth it. So just to make shure I would need a servo to operate it and a pair channel on a remote right.

That is what I was thinking ,if the brake does not stop the axle from rotating ,
when the little lever is pulled ,then something is either broken or worn out!
That appears to be Traxxas ,but that brake design was used by many two
wheel drive nitro buggy brands!

Usually channel 2 would opperate that. It may be doable with electric but then you lose reverse. If you go electric, dump the brake as the motor can.

If it was a locked diff it would not do that. Because its open is why. With both tires on the ground, they have the same pressure which creates traction. If your turning or on a curve, the tire that is on the ground may skid and the tire in the air or with lighter should spin reversed.

You can add grease or even do a lock washer mod for a limited slip feel.
Fwiw, it appears to be a magnum 281 tranny, meaning 2.81 ratio I believe. Slash is the 2.72

What cars do you currently own? I'm asking because I'm gonna have you do a simple test to make sure I'm understanding your problem.

If it is a gear broken, there is 3 gears in there, one gear has four tiny gears inside of it. There is a few options to go if thats the issue.

Well I have a wpl military truck and what I think someone said on here a traxxis. I was given acouple of totes if random parts and pieces of rc cars.here is the photos of what I have. I know some are weird right? Frankenstein should you say. I just build with what I have to work with but still new to some of the parts out there. So I tryed putting a video file on here to show you it working but it would not let me.

The thing is when you let off the trigger the motor stops but on a incline the truck won't sometimes but stopping the motor from turning won't do any good in stopping the truck so I just don't understand why This is a thing. No matter just won't use the part. Thanks for replying
