I bought a Porchse 911 GT1 body form HPI and fitted it to my RS4. The other day I was running my car, hit a stick and the body has curved side skirts which turned off the radio system in my car!:opps: The car went of the curb and shut off. Nothing broken (thank god) and I dont think I'll buy a body form HPI any more.

I dont' mean to be judgemental, but I don't think its the body's fault. Did the body flex and turn off a switch? If so, I would just relocate the switch so it doesn't happen again. Remember, these bodies are not intended to be structural pieces. Although they are designed to be relatively tough they are inherintly going to flex upon impact.

In my opinion HPI makes the best bodies. So I guess itd be your loss. My guess would be any body made would have done the same thing. Sounds like one of them rare occuranses that happen 1 in 100.

Why not blame the stick? No reason to take it out on HPI. They are some of the best shells in the biz. That's like getting pissed off at your transmitter because you drove into a mailbox. Like these other guys said, HPI bodys are as good if not better than most in the industry. The same thing could have happened with any other body out there.

I agree with that...can't blame the lid, prolly wouldn't have happened if it hadn't been for the stick.....

If the switch is in fact facing outwards, I would relocate it somewhere else to ensure this doesn't happen again.....

Ok ok maybe I was a little judgemental at the time becasue I had to buy new parts and sticks can be avoided

Well... we all get upset when stupid things happen.

In the end, remember, this is a hobby. Mistakes will happen, accidents will happen. Just make sure to get both on film!

In the long run, what you suffered was minor. The lesson here is that things happen with our cars. It's hard to stomach at first, but soon enough you'll really implode your ride and this will seem trivial. Just take it one wreck at a time. And in between, get some great speed runs in.

if that was me, Id never go outside again!

lol. Sounds kinda crazy huh? Your just gonna have to deal with it. poop like that just happens and it doesn't matter what lid you were running.
