revo issues... i seem to be reading alot of these so you all must be sick of it but i need help!! please... got a second hand revo off ebay that was apparently in perfect working order, came with masses of spare parts and looks in reallygood nic... but it wont bloody start!!! have replaced the glow plug... purchased a glow plug ignitor cos i thought it might have been the blue wire... it wasn't... reverted to factory fuel settings... which ended up flooding it.... so fixed that... then followed the steps to get it unstuck from TDC (can i use wd40 or similar instead of light motor oil??) got it to crank over once but only idled for about 5-8 seconds then died again... please help... :\ desperate revo girl!!

I would start by checking the fuel lines and tank lid seal. then check for any other air leaks. are you using old fuel? check the slide on the carb, look inside and make sure the gap is close to 1mm or the thickness of a credit card.are you priming it when you try to start it? I use wd-40 for my afterun oil and have had no issues with it.

thanks for the help! got it started and drove it straight into a pole and smashed the front end!!! haha! well not straight away! he was driving for about 5 minutes and the pole just jumped out of nowhere! hahaha! so now replacing the front end! haha! any tips on removing a threaded allan key screw??

If the screw is stripped, you can use a Dremel and cut a slot in it. Then you can use a slotted screwdriver to get it out.

thanks for the help guys... tried the small drill piece and extractor piece... didnt work... thankfully... as the screw was only 2 mls as was the smallest drill bit.. so had it worked i would have completely drilled out the screw... original thread included... and completely screwed it!!! so going to go get a dremel tomorrow... grrr this thing already... :)

Revo to Tmaxx...

;Steves revo is back on the road... after driving around for 2 hours to different hobby and model shops to find the suspension arm... its back together and ready for him to race tomorrow.... dremel tool worked a treat... got the ozito one for about $40 bucks from bunnings and came with heaps of heads so was pretty happy in the end... and easy to work with too rather than a big arse power drill! i am a girl!!! anyway I've decided i really enjoyed working on the revo and have a bit of a knack mechanically with full size cars so I'm going to give this a go... I'm going to rebuild steves old tmaxx... upgrade it from the 2.5... to the 3.3 and pimp it out! lol... I'm going to starta thread in the tmaxx forum called "project t maxx " would love for anyone and everyone to follow my progress and help out where possible... because i can only imagine I'm going to need plenty of help!!!
