Okay guys my brother brought out his revo he has been working since purchasing off of the Bay. Anyhow it has the platinum trans setup with rear brake. The issue is number one the rear brake applies itself with the throttle and also, as it's supposed to when the brake is applied. I also can not get this thing to shift into second at all. I have tore the trans down cleaned inspected it everything seems to be in working order as it should. One thing is strange as it only has the shift point adjustment set screw and no locking screw on the shift dog flinger. It is however locked on the two speed gear shaft. Is there something special about these trans because it does not look like my 3.3 FOC trans in my revo at all? And yes it has the center diff installed. he wants to just swap it over to the standard 3.3 revo trans wich is what I would do seeing as the rear brake setup just plain sucks in my opinion.

The Revo rear brake is a little tricky to set up correctly. If it’s applying brake when you use throttle it’s a linkage issue. Also, the rear brake setup on the tranny is unreliable in stock form. When I raced the Revo back in the day I would always modify the rear brake setup by installing CS screws from the inside out and use nylocks on the protruding studs to attach the rear brake.
If your brother is going to race it, the CD is a big improvement once you get it dialed in (500K diff oil or up to start with). If he’s just going to bash with it, the FOC is a better option.

As far as shifting, the TMaxx 3.3 and Revo spec trannys have a pin that anchor the clutch to the shaft instead of the set screw the old Maxx tranny uses, make sure the pin is still intact (they are a common breakage issue).

Also, just by design the little 10th scale CD doesn’t play well (last long) with big power, and I know you like big power. (something to also consider).

Thanks for posting for advise to my revo rear brake issue bro. Think I'm going for the foc and while its tore down I'll check out the flinger pin for damage.
