We were talking on the "What's the point of.." thread in this forum. The disagreement between the boys was whether changing the transmission to FOC, would reduce rotating mass, hence giving more power and less abuse on parts. Also, rotating parts take up energy that is roughly equivalent to 4 times their mass to move. So anytime that you reduce rotating mass that has to spin (unsprung weight) it will free up horsepower. Cool. I'm really impressed with Plaidfish.:bowtothercnt: I guess you know a little about R/C:surrender :jk:
I got that straight from Xtreme RC Cars Mar/05
written by Derek Buono (whoever the hell he is?)
Also, it said that you may want to increase the idle because the weight reduction makes it inconsistent and the truck may stall in idle. Actually, the whole article has 13 tips to increase power. Excellent article!!

bro, this guy knows his stuff,...Only thing better than that...hes one of the many r/c hobbyist on this board that can get anyone out of a bind.:wasted:

gee whiz guys (and gals)....I've never had a fan club....I'd blush but I don't think anyone I know would be able to handle it.....be like the leaning tower going straight or sumthin....Hugo I work as an engineer in HVAC controls....I have to understand Mechanical Systems...Electrical Systems....and Plumbing Hydronics.....it's not hidden info....just physics....thank you for the compliment but really I'm not a spotlight kinda guy....besides gassing my head up like that while I'm at work sucks...I might not fit my head out the door...LOL

EXACTLY!!!
I appreciate the good things guys, but w/o RCNT about 18 months ago I'd be in a pile of useless T-maxx parts still....LOL...

If anyone is REALLY serious about learning these lil buggers pick up "the ultimate nitro tuning guide" book (not the DVD)....it had more info in it than you'll know what to do with but it's a great refference source for any novice RC enthusiast....huh huh hu hhhhuuhuhhuuuhh uuuuuuhhhhhhh.....I said enthusiast

Jesus. That's all we need now. Plaid getting a swelled head. Time for some Clorox in the fish tank...

too late....I tried walkin out the office and got stuck....actually I paid Hugo to gas me up in public :D

Its a little known fact that Derek would never be able to get an issue out if it wasn't for Plad :D

On a serious note, its great to see that there are members willing to share their knowledge and that there are users that actually read what they say.

I also have to give Hugo and other members credit for fact checking what they read before acting. It doesn't mater where you get your info as long as its accurate. It doesn't matter if you read it in a mag, on a forum, or get the info from a friend researching an issue will only make you smarter. If there are differences in what you find this forum is a great place to discus it.

There is so much BS at times that posts like this truly bring out the reason this forum was started and remains so successful.

Eddy is right.....when I read someones post on info I'm lookin for, I use that info to make a better search for more info before making a decision.....I know I've had info I acted on (and passed on) that was bad....I try to know what I say before I do it as well......I'm the guy that kills odds when I bet.....all my friends know if I put cash on the line it's a guarantee.....I try to keep that same philosophy when speaking to others on any topic.....don't BS it cause you'll screw yourself in the long run......I'm lucky to have the gifts I have and try to use them as much as possible.....life is too short and too unfair to be a Duckhead all the time.....

Wait, he knew all this technical mumbo jumbo, but not how to remove chrome off a set of wheels?

Wonder, has he heard of the, "Umbrella-When-It-Rains" theorem? Wonder if that's covered under Plumbing Hydronics?

You all make it so much fun to learn. I've been reading and reading....I am just so interested in this stuff. I'm really learning to use "search" and the net. I've saved up so much stuff that pertains to MT's that I'm starting to understand much better. Of course, I've had lots of help on this site.
You guys are great and so kind. Thanks xo

i think plaid = hugo. he made a new name so he could "gas himself up" in public.

:jk: its great to see people helping people. in todays world that isnt a normal sight.

oh by the way, on that techno mumbo jumbo, plaid cheated off me!! :jk: again.

Plumbing Hydronics?

LOL that was my Typo...Plumbing AND Hydronic systems.....

the chrome removal is just something I don't deal w/ too often...I just don't buy bling.......plain Jane looks and all the dough under the hood is my M.O.

MW I got the Hubs now and by this weekend I'll have a new set of 23mm hub wheels for less than 60 bucks...almost all new stuff...except the hubs.....thanks for lookin out

water systems...mostly Chilled Water Pumping plants and Condensor Water (Cooling Tower) Pumping....sometimes I get to design stuff for Process Controls too.....I did a really cool system for a Laser lab at UCF.....the new CREOL lab building...has some nasty poop in one of the laser labs...when there is like .17PPM of this poop inth eair we rain in the lab...literally open up a separate water solution sprinkler system in the lab and let it rain......17PPM of the chemical is deadly.....I'd have to look it up but our salesman priced this stuff up like the chems were no big deal....well I guess if everyone w/in 10 ft of the leak dying within a few mins is no big deal then I guess he had it right.......but basically Hydronic = water.......

Beason, I think he just copied that from a book! That can't be english?? Blah, blah, blah, blah
just kidding! Plaidfish, you scare me!!!!

hes just a show off.. big words blah blah.. dont make me break out the interworkings of a pc or a network. lol.. :jk:
