What actually consisits of having a sleeve pinched? I'm just curious as to basically what it is. Whatd do they do when pinching a sleeve? Just curious. I've never had it done, if I ever had to do a rebuild I just did the total rebuild. Anway, i was just wondering. Thanks
 
It's done with a press. The sleeve is set in a machined 'mold' and pressed part way. Then it's checked and pressed farther. Checked again and pressed the rest of the way. It's tapered, that's why it's done in stages, and checked for size each time.
It's actually being evenly squeezed all the way around, till it's a snug fit to the piston again.

Ebay....Look for osrocket. He's the man.
 
I've seen osrocket's work, and let me tell you HE DOES SOME GOOD WORK. The pinch is tighter then stock. Well worth the $20!
 
When you have like no compression left in your engine! Turn the flywheel around, it should get tight at TDC. If it does'nt, and just spins fairly easy: you can say your piston and sleeve are shot. Send it in to OSRocket, and he squeezes the sleeve to regain compression. Really cheap way to bring an engine back to life! Hope that clears up some of your questions!
