please list more detail.. because if you bought a breather filter from auto world and slapped it on your rig, your gonna destroy your engine.

hay man dont show us a custom setup with out the part number.

It originally came off a 4 wheel ATV my mate got off the net. It isn't heating my motor any more or less than before modification, it's just a really light weight and extremely breathable filter. Has had no affect on motor at all. It seems to keep alot of crap from sticking to oil covered filter though (Dust cover for a dust catcher I spose ????) Seems extreme but looks good !!!!!!!!! Think I might stick with for while longer see how it goes long term ???? No probs yet though !!!!!!!

Good luck with all the fine dust that thing lets through.

all that "crap" that was stuck to the oil covered filter, was "crap" that the filter stopped from getting into your engine. thefilter you have now, does not catch the ultra fine stuff. they are ok for larger engines, where very fine dust doesn't hurt, but the tolerances on these engines is to tight and the dust will kill them. if you dont believe me, do a search for KnN filter on here. it has been brought up, discussed, and argued more times then i wish to count.

Go ahead and run that filter if you want to fry your engine. I would recommend going back to a stock type filter or a Motor Saver filter.

I agree, that filter is going to be no good for your nitro engine. As Beason stated, all that "crap" was your other filter doing it's job. Seeing as how that crap is not on your new filter means the filter is letting that crap pass through, which WILL shorten your engine life drastically. That filter is barely better than running without a filter.

Sorry Apples, as good as they look they have a bad reputation on little r/c nitro engines. That super find dust will get into your engine and basicaly grind away at the surface of the piston and sleeve which could drastically shorten the lifespan of those parts. Big engines have oil systems that lubricate and wash away very small contaminants but these little engines just don't have that. Nitro fuel has oil in it of course but the lubrication is not as efficient as an engine with a full blown oil system. Whatever gets in there stands to do a lot more damage that it would in a larger engine. Plus you will get that wear probably 3-4 times faster per every minute that it's run due to the extreme rpms that nitro engines turn.

racer, that is why i asked for more details, if he covered a stock filter with this setup he would be ok. but i dont think he did so.

Don't fret guys i got the sponge inside , it's all for show. It's on there cause i use my cars 3-4 times a week and after 2 runs the air filter is totally covered in dirt and i was sick of cleaning it. Now i just unscrew on the top and hose. !!!!!!!!!!!!

if you still have the sponge filter inside, then your golden. but can you show us how you did it? other members may be interested.

That's cool Apples. Nice fix of functionality and convenience.

hey thats a good idea..I'm gonna go to an autoparts store near me and find a small knn filter, take out the guts and put in my spare two stage filter that came with my new revo!! wat do u guys think!!!ill post pics later or tomorrow

iv done the exact same thing exept mines a little bigger. luckily i found some foam that fits so took it apart, took the paper filter out, put the foam one in and finished with the netting over it just for display. the only problem i had though was finding a strong enough pipe to support it.
