RC Driving Style
I just started having a VERY weird problem with my maxx. During normal driving with doing nothing more than sharp turns on bumpy terrain, my rear lower pillowballs have been pulling out of the axle carriers. I have stock pillowballs and rpm carriers and arms. After i reassemble the truck, i cannot pull the ball out with my hands. One thing i noticed is that my rear metal shafts are barely inside the cups. I never noticed this before but it seems like they are nearly 1/4" short. i am thinking that maybe when the suspension flexes and the drivetrain is under a load, the shaft is yanking out and somehow taking out the lower pillowball as well. It happens on both sides but only in the rear. Any idea??? I am thinking a set of MIP rear shafts are in order but i want some inpute before i drop the cash.

yes. i finished a full revamping. I had the integy evo2 kit installed (n00b) and almost everything has been replaced with RPM/UE/RR. The new arms are rpm as well as the axle carriers and shock towers. UE bulkheads, hardcore racing diff in the back (i have the front but never installed it) RR tranny with MIP CVD's

I had the RPM carriers installed before and had no problems.

The original TMaxx came with shorter arms. The arms you just bought are most likely the longer arms, causing your shafts to be too short. When you screwed in the pillowballs, did you screw them in right to the ball? I'm wondering if you possibly stripped out the arms..

i've got the 2.5 maxx and no, i only screwed in the pillowballs down to where the threads stopped but i put another 5 turns on them in an effort to give me a tad more axle shaft inside the diff cups.

i am thinking i got original tmaxx driveshafts. but that doesn't explain why they worked earlier. maybe the new diff cups are shorter?

That is odd... I've had my RPM's pop a pillow ball a couple of times on my revo, but it's usually during some stupid accrobatic stunt... then I pop it back in and I'm off again. I've had it happen twice. The last time busted my servo horn.
